My point is after all these years, people should’ve gotten their EX spirals blown up enough to know it wasn’t a great option to begin with, but we’d do it anyway, because, what other options were there? Only a handful of times I’ve gotten away with the smart read of close MK on defense mostly because the range on it is terrible and I’d get thrown out of the far one. She’s not that bad Crap, shes better in more ways than worse(i still dont think she’s as good as some make her out to be). Though her defense has taken a slight loss. I feel like some match ups have changed for the worse like abel for example is a more difficult match then he used to be form a defensive point of view. To make up for that i feel like I have to compensate with her offense more than i’m used to.
Yeah Abel is definitely worse now & getting cornered by anyone is hell now as well. They made her already bad defense worse and a weak offense better. That leaves the scale pretty much in the same place for her overall IMO.
making the move throw invincible and strike invincible wouldn’t be that strong. Other than the spiral buffs for damage. Aren’t most of her normal vanilla damage now? As for poison Croft i think she can deal with some of rose’s bad match ups but share bad ones like Abel.

And it wasn’t that strong, partly because it wasn’t fully invincible til start up. They should’ve left it fully invincible and decreased the start up by 2 frames so people couldn’t do stand OS to beat it, but the EX spiral still wouldn’t beat most jabs/assorted light attacks.

Considering all the match ups and all the experience he has, rose can do well and still have really shitty flaws that people aren’t attacking. Guile has had the same shit problems since vanilla which haven’t really been addressed. Does die minion still do well with him? Yeah. Will he tell you that it’s kinda easy to fuck up guile unless you are constantly on point to some ridic level? Yeah.
The finals made rose look better that she was because of the matchup against a fireball character. Had it been him against kazunoko needing to win 6 games, then things might have been different. This is not to say that luffy is without merit in his win. He had some balls of steel with the stuff he did. But playing a good match up in the finals helps a lot. Same with daigo vs Ricky in 2010.
Maybe not the thread to discuss match-ups, but I don’t think vs Sagat favors Rose really. It’s even at best. Bonchan just doesn’t know Rose yet. His biggest mistake was never using Angry Scar. Just having it active is a big tool for Sagat.
OP is right, Rose is not viable after this update, you have to be blind not to realize it!
