A lot of people seem to forget or just not realize that as of 2007 most people didn’t have a stick, only people who were very serious about playing fighting games. Now since the advent of HDR & SFIV it is considered blasphemy to not use a stick? GTFO. I played ST, MVC, KOF and plenty of others for years on my keyboard bc it was the only way to play arcade ports, and most usb controllers sucked ass.
I have two arcades sticks and still occasionally fire up MAME for a few rounds of MVC with the keyboard. People need to chill the fuck out, let others do what they want. I’m pretty sure most of you in this thread bitching about and challenging keyboard players would get their ass handed to them by Furious Keys, dude is sick.
You know, it just hit me the other day, that keyboard users that get good at whatever game are actually fucking cheaters.
Why ?
They don’t have to perform like half the directional inputs!!
On top of that, the more a human uses a keyboard the faster he/she gets on it, so couple this with the fact that almost half of the inputs are not necessary on keyboard for fighting games, and this is a total unfair advantage over stick/pad users.
No wonder some keyboarders seem unrealistically good, by cheating.
No wonder keyboarders will never go on traditional controllers, they can’t cheat on them.
Are you talking about macros or are you just dumb? You can get better at any control scheme. And really keyboard isn’t too much different from stick/pad, just that the arrows are done a bit differently, lol

1 (up), 2 (down), 3 (left) , 4 (right).
How many on a stick/pad?

Let me elaborate further with a small example:
For a fireball on keyboard: down, forward + punch is required.
For the same fireball on stick/pads: down, down-forward, forward + punch.
Again, what does that tell you?

Actually, I’m fairly certain that many, if not most, sticks only have four directional inputs. 1 (up), 2 (down), 3 (left), 4 (right).
The diagonal inputs are done by contacting two gates at the same time. Hmm, how do keyboard users input diagonal movements?
They piano their keys, usually spamming certain patterns or “double-piano” tapping to increase accuracy. Keyboard players aren’t fooling themselves, they know their method is not accurate. They developed their skills due to convenience or the fact they grew up without the $$$ for a gamepad/stick back in the day.
they hit Down, then Piano to Forward, so that for a brief moment, Down+forward is contacted.
This is exactly how a stick and pad works. Take apart a pad or stick, it’s 4 contacts. Up, Down, Left and Right. No different than a keyboard, except it’s dependent on single motions rather than the coordination of multiple fingers working in perfect unison. Most keyboard users, despite their love for their keyboards, tend to still double up on movements for redudancy. I really don’t know why they would ever defend the use of keyboard using LoL. It’s not something most would “prefer”.
lol, i think you’re trying to prove something incredibly stupid, anything other than basic directional inputs on keyboard takes more effort because it’s no longer simply “spin a 360” it’s 4-42-2-26-6-68-8-84-4
doing a dragon punch on a stick is hold forward, hold down, hold down forward, 3 inputs
doing a dragon punch on a keyboard is press 6, press 2 (hold), press 3
same goes for qcf, you actually have to hold the key and let go, so in the end the number of inputs is the same for simple motions
