So Mike_Z, how'd you do sales wise? (or: the elephant in the room)

I think it’s the [S]poorly[/S] masterfully drawn cat that randomly pops out when you hit with Lock ‘n’ Load.

ANNIIIMMMEEEEEEEEEE

I love this game! Mike Z’s bank account is the only thing IPS wont affect!

Not atleast intill the fourth game.

Well played hahaha

There’s no reason at all that given a couple of strategically placed updates with a few new features or characters, that it won’t still be played in years to come like Super Turbo. It has a great engine, very original moveset and characters. It basically offers stuff that no other fighter does. The biggest challenge is getting word out there, particularly with how flooded the market is with fighting games.

Had this been released a few years back before SF4 and on disc, I wonder how it would have gone.

By the way Mike, do you ever forsee a disc based release? I was rather angry to see that on release day it was hidden away in the Xbox market place. You would think they would promote their new releases some way. Also discs would make tournament life a bit easier with the having to be signed in to play the full version due to rights and stuff hassle

I will be buying this on PC too. I know there are concerns about piracy and stuff, but if there is any way you can put the game up for sale without anything else having to be installed like steam or whatever, that would be preferable. I hate having a bunch of stuff installed.

Timeout! You have to be signed in to Xbox Live to play full version of Skullgirls?

Just buy it from the US store… .its not really that hard to get a dupe account and buy a card from somewhere like play asia.
i did it, and now im playing skullgirls at home yay me…

About a tenth as good because nobody cared about FGs?

With as good as the engine seems to be, i believe that the game can last with the minimal amount of intervention. The real kicker is spreading the word throughout the community. This is why I actually started a Facebook group for this for my country (the Philippines) and this is why I’ve been pushing the game in casuals and tournaments every chance I get.

Looking at the large number of Skullgirls fan posts on Tumblr makes me think that this game has done better than we’re giving it credit for. I don’t want to jump to conclusions or get anyone’s hopes up preemptively, but it does appear that it has attracted people from far outside the FGC.

Yeah people give the art a lot of flak but it caught the eyes of more people and Alex has his own fan base too.

8.95GB isn’t enough disc space to handle all that hot Skullgirls action.

Heard somewhere that a disc wouldn’t be able to load the hi-res sprites, and you’d end up getting the hitbox glitch that the 360 version currently has.

skullgirls debuted right behind fez on xbox live! http://majornelson.com/2012/04/17/live-activity-for-week-of-april-9th/

Well, to be fair, it’s not like your name is YounDirtyBastard…

Sales numbers and info goes public after some time. Companies are not allowed to lie about figures otherwise it’s just bad business practice. Things of that nature are taken to the BBB and are throughly investigated. Been reading through this thread and I don’t see a reason for it to stay open. Just trying to keep this place uncluttered. Thread locked.
