So I'm playing Darkstalkers Collection

what i need to know, is this collections tournamnet worthy? accurate arcade port with all options enabled?

because if so, im going to move it from the cps2 to ps2 collections for evolution.

please do extensive tests.

it really seems so. quite a few japanese players say it is, and every test we’ve done here make us think it is arcade perfect. still, it’s a bit too soon to be 100% sure…

VS2’s sound is fucked up, but if Evo’s doing VS1 that wouldn’t be a factor.

Example: wasn’t getting any sounds for “First Attack” and such, went into VH2, and back to VS2, and started getting Pyron’s laugh for those sounds.

oh, and Oboro Bishamon is in PS2’s VS1; he shouldn’t be there(he is a VS2 character, iirc).

9TNine: never experienced this sound problem.

I also am still getting strange sounds for VS2. I wonder if it is a screwed up copy or what?

maybe the japanese version (which is only 3s, not collection) support it… have you tried it?

I’ve tried activating progressive scan (hold the “X” and “triangle” buttons when booting the game, btw - you’ll also need a component cable too) on the japanese versions of HSF2 and 3s, and they don’t support it.

I’m not sure how close the Saturn version of VS was to the arcade but, this is as good as the Saturn version.

I’m still having difficuly figuring out what all the stars do in the various games. Any ideas on sites that might help?

i think the saturn version had added animations to the background.

& is it reasonable to assume that the stars are difficulty, turbo, & bats/rounds? or are there a gazillion more star options?

That is cool as hell, I wish they would release a Saturn pad for the Xbox (along with this game with Live support). It’s cool that they seperated all the games instead of putting them all together like they did Chronicle, however I sitll can’t buy this game unless they make an Xbox version with Live support (since I own both Vampire Hunter and Savior for Saturn and Chronicle for DC). If anyone wants to see the official site here it is, they will be updating it with more wallpapers and shit.

He’s referring to the dipswitch menu, I believe. It’s completely separate from the normal menu that adjusts difficulty, speed, etc. The dipswitch menu is just a bigass grid of little stars that can individually be switched on and off. No in-game description is given for each switch’s effect, but I did run across one site that had a partial list. I posted it earlier in the thread. I haven’t come across any more other than those, though, Midnight.

And SlaughterX, I agree; an Xbox Live release of this collection would be great. Still hasn’t been any official word regarding any releases other than the Japanese PS2 one, though. Arrgh.

Any chance at a region free xbl port, like SFAC?

Heh, none of us here are in a position to answer that type of question, we can only hope (and dream). Funny the PS2 version isn’t online, hell, even the DC and PSP versions of Chronicle had online right?

i finally stopped being lazy and got “dee.”

wow, he might be the most pointless character addition i’ve ever seen in any fighting game.

But he’s new! New! A new character in a Capcom 2D fighter! A new character in a Darkstalkers game! A… new character with just about as much work done on him as CFJ Zangief…

Sorry if this has been posted already, but how do you get Dee?

i havent played the collections yet, but you MUST play more marvel to put things into perspective lol.

To get Dee

In VS1- beat game with Shadow (on random press start 5 times and press a button)

In VH2/VS2- beat game with Marionette (on random press start 7 times and press a button)

To select Dee- on random press start 9 times and press button

i just got this game i would like 2 to know which game is actually worth my time learning as im new 2 this im guesing VS1 or 2?

VS1

it has the doggy

edit: dogberry’s av is top tier… omg, lol im laughin my ass off
