Though there have been some times that I’ll run into a SRK member online that I dont know, but from what Ive seen are better than me, so I get excited that Im gonna have a decent opponent to kick the shit out of me so I can learn. And then they go and pick Dan or something. Kind of a let down

Sorry, I’m not normally on the Akuma boards, but I saw this topic and had to post in it.
Ed Ma is actually a really cool guy - I have seen him at the arcade a couple of times, and while he gets irritated about losing matches or about people doing stupid things and getting away with it, he will offer genuine advice to you.
For example, I play Chun, and I played Ed Ma in a few matches - at one point during our games he pointed out that Chun can reversal Ultra Akuma’s sweep. I knew that already, so I didn’t think much of it, but after he took Round 1 from me, near the end of Round 2 he kept walking up and sweeping me so that I could reversal Ultra him.
That just kind of caught my attention and it’s always sort of stuck with me. There were hundreds of other possible things he could have done, including being a jerk or just not doing anything at all, but he chose to give me the round so I could practice and improve.
Why are you getting star stuck by someone who was realtively good like a year ago. Get over it and try to find better people to play. People like you are the reason why gootecks can get away with charging 10 dollars an hour. Even though he’s above average at the game, he isn’t a top player, he just has the name to go with it.

you do realize when you join a endless lobby the connections start at green until they get checked out, then they get changed to the appropriate connection…
