So How Much Are You Worth?

I have to fart<br>

I’ve met a lot of top players both here and on the west coast and all of them play because they enjoy the game. They aren’t egomaniacs, either. From Chris G. to Honzo, they all are really nice and will just play with whoever wants to play. I think this is just a Fanatiq thing but I’ve never met the guy when I lived in California so I dunno.

Actually the goal of events should be casuals and sets. If i was supposed to get good off of tournament games alone, i’d be more ass now then i already am.

Like I said, missing out on 90% of the fun :).

This topic was in reply to Fanatiq’s remarks, though I’m sure many others share the same sentiments and mentality.

I’m attacking his statements, but the original purpose was to see how you all felt in regards to the changing climate of our community.

if its free its free. fanatiq has no problem saying free so when its sad back in a situation when it applies, getting mad is more than a little ironic

I dunno I don’t see fanatiq going around calling people free in games they haven’t played in years

That’s no excuse, if you sat down to pay and then play the game you are going to take whatever shit talk is coming to you.

I don’t get the relevance this has to the other things.

By these standards Gootecks SSS tier marketable. Look how far he got without even doing well in fighting games!

But he’s doing well in stick tossing games.

Didn’t Gootecks make it to SBO in Third Strike and the team actually make it past first round that year?

I have many costumes, but Abel isn’t one of them

I think the problem is that Gootecks hasn’t really accomplished much as a competitor since his Third Strike days.

That said, this is all fine with me. The guy was obviously smart enough to bank on whatever name he made for himself (that, and I believe he helped Rockefeller get on the Stream, which is always good in my book).

When will the USA see the age of d3v? Where the Filipino Marvel Champion comes and bodies his “Filipino” Brother F Champ and shows the world a new age of Marvel.

What is it about these top American players and their “get rich quick” - schemes. All sorts of raffles, seeding players based on sponsor-ships and what not. I mean don’t they have anything else going for them?

You would never expect Latif (just an example, not trying to place him on a pedestal) to say something along the lines of “we should seed people based on marketing”, because he probably spends a lot of time studying and preparing for other things in his life.

Do these people really think they can somehow make it by maximizing profits from playing Marvel? Start living in the real world, invest in human capital and enjoy the games without poisoning the well. Otherwise it’s dunkin’ donuts for twenty years after winning a few tournaments (and maybe, just maybe getting enough money from “sponsorship deals” to pay the rent for a few months)

People have been seeding based on Region for the longest. Seeding based on Sponsorship is the same thing. This is the same thing Ryan Hart was pissed off about(partially)
