Competitive integrity is something that should be alter in anyway. I’m all for growth and development but not at this type of expense.

Niggas feeling themselves way too much. SMH.
It’s really quite easy. Have the players qualify at different tournaments. Spread out the supposed top tier, marketable skill and have them just scrape all around instead of having them face off against eachother. It’s simple. Have a back up plan in case two like-sponsored competitors have to face off against one another.
If it’s business sense you’re after, there you go. Contingency plan. That’s usually part of the design, at least I think so.
“Using arrows, trying to green text on a vbulletin board”
“Green texts normally states a quote or to imply a meaning. By adding quotations, you’re quoting a quote”
You should just not post ever again. Anything you state here on out is just… well… contemptible.
>implying we give a fuck
Fanatiq’s little drama queen moment made sure I never buy a product from PDP. I just want to play games, man, I don’t want to supplement someone’s salary. I should just leave the scene again.
While I know a lot of people don’t like the idea of seeding by sponsor, when he was talking about marketability wasn’t he specifically referring to players that want to be sponsored? He was talking in relation to Bee when he asked about getting sponsored and he told him he’d never heard of him. What he said about being marketable wouldn’t apply to someone who doesn’t want to be sponsored.

He was making fun of the guy who got second place at Evo in Marvel because he wasn’t sponsored since he wasn’t marketable apparently.
The guy got bloody second at Evolution but he has the nerve to ridicule him because he isn’t marketable?
No he was talking about how the community needs to change to accommodate sponsorships, and that includes taking a players team into account while seeding to give the brand more exposure.
As a TO, I can tell you that this idea is 500% bullshit. How about he gets his sponsors balls out of his throat?
If you count up all my assets and liabilities, I’d say I’m worth about $5000.
If it’s about having a good ass fucking player, with an open mind for conversation and all the know how in the world for the how these communities run I’d say I’m at least worth 2 sponsors. Let them decide how much money they want to give me, I’ll make it back for them in tournament earnings, fgtv ads, exposure and I’d return the favor later on in the communities future. #fgc wheres mah money.
I would even get a twitter account.
I woudn’t even ask to be seeded, I would figure out that shit for my team all on my own. Contingency plans in place and contingency plans for the contingency plans.
I could care less about marketability/sponsorships since playing fighting games is just a hobby for me and I don’t play Capcom games, but there are people who want to be sponsored but are clueless about it or how to market themselves to become sponsored. So I agree on the points Fanatiq made regarding that. Maybe he could have made his point and left Infrit out of it because I don’t know if Infrit’s goal is to be a walking product placement.
As for changing the bracket after pool play to account for sponsored players, no. At that point it’s too late. Maybe the pools could have been seeded better so that you don’t have 3 sponsored players all on one side of the top 32 bracket, but if the horses can’t make it to the finish, then maybe you need better horses.
Speaking of marketability, those interviews every other fight at SCR were unnecessary.
Felt like I was watching MLG.

I don’t get it…is he trying to be funny by pretending that “free” = “GG” ? Why wouldn’t he be salty after some random calls him free because he loses a match in an old game he hasn’t played in years?
I don’t know why Fanatiq gets so much hate. I mean, all he did was try to sell PDP gear during the closing of Family Fun. I mean, whats wrong with that?
lol wow thats wack
It’s entirely possible for the marketable e-sports and for the underground vulgar/sexist/misogynist FGC community to co-exist
i mean poker is able to pull it off
But how are they supposed to split the pot when they aren’t in the finals/top3/top8?
I have to fart<br>
Some of that is true, I don’t know how to feel when people say " I’m going to this tournament, I’m not going to play but I want to see Justin Wong".
Personally, I think that people would play these games, even if there is no money behind it. I mean, I already play KOF 98, 3D Fighting games and Garou for fun and for no money, why wouldn’t I play SF4 for fun and for no money?
You also have the rise of the mentality of “Why should I go to a tournament if I’m just going to go 0-2?”.
There are 3 things wrong with that thinking.
[LIST=1]
[]You’re assuming you’re going to go 0-2. “Whether you think you can or can’t you’re right” Henry Ford. This is a loser mentality, you should be trying your best and seeing where you go wrong and learning from it. That should make you mad, you should want to go and improve so then you can make Top 16 next time, then Top 8, and then win.
[]You’re going to the Tournament just for the game. Tournaments are about community, making friends and having a good time, for most people the games are mostly background. Yeah, if you spend $200 dollars to drive to the next state to play Tekken, go 0-2 and then leave its a waste of time. But, you’re missing out on 90% of the fun.
[*]How are you going to get better if you don’t go? The day I went 1-2 at a tournament after months of 2-0 was a pretty good day for me, it will be for you, provided you go.

The FGC is turning into a sport, which is good and bad. Bad, as people are now becoming comfortable with being a bad player and are now becoming comfortable with stream-monstering. I’m I saying you should go to every event? No, but just know that a stream is a privilege no a right and that you should be there. Getting sponsored is now the goal of many players (including myself) when before it seemed to be a nice luxury.
