I wouldn’t mind helping run some stuff too if you need the help at all, I’d love to try and get some practice at organizing stuff since it looks like it’ll be me and one other guy running St. Catharines if and when we ever get our shit organized.

Nope, nothing. 2 main reasons

  1. We’ll be playing mostly the same people we normally play against every week, why make the trip?
  2. We get pushed around to play the same people and we don’t want kellfire to go through all that trouble of bringing stuff to get “borrowed” by others he doesnt even want.

Its true, kellfire brings all the stuff. But he DOESN’T mind, hes been voluntarily bringing his stuff for tournaments like this for BB/GG/TK for a few yrs now. but what he DOES mind, is having his stuff “borrowed” by others (ie, SF4, etc) without proper explanations/treatments/whatever.

If you say BB was the most hype game at TX, its only because everybody was pissed at how SF4 turned out lol. But all the hype was within the community, which we see each other pretty often since we go to gety every week lol.

Im sure the BB tourney ran fine last sogo tourney with 2.5 hrs or whatever… i dunno if it means anything because none of the people from lovegety BB actually showed up, but im glad things are still happening :slight_smile:

Just wanted to clear up stuffs. Have a fun tourney guys!

Hey I’ve never been in a tournament before but I’m interested in going. Just a few questions, do we have to bring our own controllers? Will this tournament have any prizes? I’ll still check it out either way to see how these things are run. Also, is the gamer handle the name that will represent us? Like how Martin has “Marn” and Joe has “LI joe” as their sf name.

Directors don’t need to cram every game that ever existed to get more players. You don’t have to please everyone. If they are crying that one of their games is not being considered, that’s because the community for that is dead and your better off saving equipment.

i’ll be running Tekken so don’t worry about that one.
They are usually quick as long as the players are around.

Vince will run SFIV and i read he will have help.

If you want to run SCIV, i have no problem with that as well but please confirm that you will have 8 people showing up. If you don’t have 8 by next week then it should be safe to say that we don’t need to run it and that counts for any other game you wish to start. I also see organizers kind of forcing people to join games to complete a bracket, IMO that not right. Just let them enjoy the game they came for.

…Man, I wouldn’t even call that casa loma event a tourney haha there were a few people there and everyone was using a 360 controller. Plus I didn’t even know it was a tourney until I went there lol I actually thought it was a casual hangout thing for sf4. Maybe St.james will have more people and better competition.

I agree with this. i’m getting close to a years worth of experience running these things and I have to say, you can’t please everyone. You try to make one person happy and 10 others will come with thier whiney desires.

All I know is that Davero and I are the only Hondas so far at St James lol. If I only see like 8 people there I’m going home. I’m HOPING that I see some decent players there or else I’ll feel greatly disappointed. lol.

I dunno man, I played SF4 casuals at Casa Loma a couple weeks back (didn’t go to the tourney on Tuesday cause I don’t have classes on that day lol) and none of them were that great. A good part of me believes that you and Davero are the only good SF4 players in St James, unless more people from SRK go there.

If thats the case then I wish I was in St James instead of here :crybaby:

Haha that’s pretty unsettling to hear… That’s two people now who’ve said GBC competition is slacking lol… Well our tournament is tomorrow so I’m going to check out the scene, see what’s up.

I’ve got a test to complete before I go there though so I’m hoping I can still catch some of the action before it ends.
