Last I checked, NeoG is still with Capcom.
Though I guess people don’t count him since he’s responsible for some of the most broken things Capcom has ever put out (A3 V-ISM, 3S, MvC2, MvC3 X-factor).
Um no thats not what people are thinking, have you even read the hate comments on youtube and other SF forms? People dont like her cause she looks exactly like Cammy, it has nothing to do with Cammy being broken.
If you actually took the time to read the hate comments you would understand why people dont like her. You just assume why people dont like her
And d3v I just proved my point in saying other doll would have been a better idea, cause they already added 2 dolls in alpha 3 and didnt get hate

I don’t have such low standards. Why would it be foolish to expect some dignity or a nice surprise from a developer which I’m supporting since so many years? I know that at the end they just don’t GAF about me or anyone, but expecting the less broad interpretation possible from a quite ambiguous anouncement is, well, just having expectations. I’m glad that you’re soooo smart that “you just see the s*** coming, deal with it and move on”… sheesh, such a jaded pose. I expect things, and that doesn’t make me a fool.
I didn’t say that looks are the only thing that matters, I said something quite different, that fighting games in the end are mor than hitboxes and game mechanics. It’s a representation of characters fighting, which succeed when more or less when we can relate or feel some affinity to some of them. It’s also (sometimes) a labour of love in some extent, down when we take investors and budgets out of the way. Narrowing it down to “bussiness” and “buttons you press” is unfair and devoid of passion, which is funny, because you are telling me “casual at best”. Wow, big pro talking here! Such relevance!
Look dude, my money is as good as anyone’s and my opinion as good as most. I might not be a great player or a tournament player (I live like… thousands of kilometers away from the next relevant tournament) but the thing that’s not in me casual is my love for this kind of games. Every aspect of them gets my interest, down from the technology they employ, the artistic choices, the philosohpy behind them, how are they played around the world, their errors in coding, etc.
And that’s why I’m still here (see my profile? not the most active member, but I’ve been here since a while). Because I love this games and I care and I feel they are being mistreated when they deceive their fans and take benefit from that. When they put a mask on a previously made model and suddenly my passion becomes without any shame a joke from the Simpsons.
Yeah, we knew that up until “the new character” everything was recycled assets, and that’s why some if not most of us thought “well… they said new” and expected something that somehow felt like new. Or worked around. Or well thought. Or at least, I don’t know, not-so-fanservicing as another version of the semi-naked Bison slave. Something with a vision beyond moè. We had enough of this crap in AE.
And yes, I will buy it, though as it was with Oni and E. Ryu, I won’t touch Decapre with a stick. Don’t mind deadbrain characters with obvious rushdown designs. I’ll try to go against the matchup, as always, with Hugo. And if Poison and Rolento need some “human element” (as Combofiend says) in their gameplay as well, I might give them a try.

I would’ve preferred if Decapre didn’t share Cammy’s stance… That’s one thing I definitely don’t like. They should’ve given her one that gave off a feeling of murderous intent.
Let people hate her. On that same token, let people love her. I hate Seth, Guy and Yuri, but they are loved by others. But I looooove me some street fighter. Also, fuck youtube.
YouTube comments are a hooooorrible source, man… I’m not even going to acknowledge them. The opinions of petty, uninformed, hive-minded scrubs matter not to me. The people in the competitive community are the ones whose opinions I value, as they have better reasons than “oh, she looks like Cammy.” It’s a GAME, not a MOVIE. I care what she PLAYS like, not what she LOOKS like. Well, I do care what she looks like, but not as much as I care about what she brings to the table from a gameplay perspective. At the end of the day, that’s all that matters.
Except it has nothing to do about hate and everything to do with money. Unless it can be shown that another doll would dramatically increase sales, then Decapre makes the most business sense.
Let’s not forget that any money saved here can go towards more important things such as balancing and bug testing.
But whose stance would you give her? Consider that they have to reuse the animation data from other characters since it seems like they can’t spend it on new ones.
When Ricky Ortiz said that she had that “Nakoruru factor”, I was sold. Too many good memories of Nak in the CvS series.
And personally (as I’ve stated before), a character could be just a collection of visible hitboxes with no actual model and I’d still play them.

Heads aren’t as simple as you think, especially since they will have to change the animation data and the “skeleton” to match the face. Anyone else remember those very first crude move swaps for SFIV on the PC where the faces would deform due to the mismatched animation and the teeth would clip through the model? That shit wasn’t pretty.
