I’m not 100%, but at one point in Marvel’s lifespan Cammy was quite the competitive character. What happened to stop her from going so far?

Well I’m not saying she can’t be competitive, but from what I’ve seen she was used a whole lot more back then.
ahhh, i c. Back in the day, 00-02 probably, she was used hella. Everyone had her on their team due to a pretty good AA and a great bnb ontop of being a pretty good character. Don’t forget that @ the time, players were still trying to figure out what was good. Don’t know if people remember one of wongs old ass teams, mag\cable\cammy and he did pretty good with it. It basically turned into top tier whoring a little while after but I think she can still compete to this day. Everyone wants to win and its just much simpler to win with mag or storm\sent than it is to win with cammy on point.
a big reason she was knocked off the radar IMO is the fact she can’t stop drones or doom rocks. Even though she’s invincible on her AA, she’ll trade with projectiles and flip off them leaving her extremely vulnerable and you don’t want that with a character with horrible stamina. If you stick her on point, her 50\50 game is extremely limited while you’re going up against characters who 50\50 for fun. Most people aren’t up for the “low tier” challenge because its pretty hard to win like that.
I love cammy. I read she was good back then but didn’t know what happened to her but I do now.
She’s just inconsistent, among other issues. Mistiming her KBA, for instance, causes her to ‘trade’ with hail storm instead of beating it. And falling out of KBA combos is the worst. I don’t even bother to do KBA in combos against Sentinel anymore, as it’s not even worth the risk. Same could be said against Cable.
Fun ,yes, serious contender for top tier, no. She can be fun to use against newer players in marvel, but anybody who knows their stuff (and the old schoolers), she has a huge uphill battle.
i think that what shout said is on point. she bounces off of doom’s rocks, can’t go through sent-y, flips off trons rings…and thats not good since she has low health.
to add to his point…she can’t stop runaway storm or a GOOD flyback sentinel (the only time she cuts off his angles to retreat is when the point/cammy duo corners sentinel/aa)
ALSo it sux that you can’t get a combo off of an easy hit confirm, cyclops is a good example. you can even see capcom’s blast hit and still catch a fast fly. with cammy she just kicks the shit out of them and they fly away too fast to ever get your hit confirm in CONSISTENTLY.
and losing games because your super malfunctioned sucks too :lol:
outside of that though…she does do what she says…she locks on and is a real hard to get around assist. but cable still takes the cake on the stupidest to dodge aa (imo)
she is a very solid point character…WAY better than capcom and tron, and on par with cyke and psylocke if used correctly. going through hailstorms with her super really is a plus.
personally even though i think storm/sent/cammy is a potentially great team…i just can’t see why i wouldn’t pick cyke or capcom instead of cammy. i think if cammy ever does make a re-appearence…it will be on a cable based team, more specifically cable/sent/cammy…which people have seen and know about already.

Do any of you guys actually know what % of the time her KBA misses? - it doesn’t happen that often from just a basic launch, sj Lp, mp, Mk, cannon drill set up.

Consider all the matches people lose with cable doing standing HVB or sent dying from HSF on assists and getting Infinited.
She’s still good on point - although commando AAA helps sent wayyy more than cammy’s AAA - stopping drones for starters.
storm can also do s Hk and commando into hail whereas with cammy you have to do D + HK or at least a far ranged HK to get cammy to hit

I main Cammy and from my experience, KBA seems to fail more often against Cable than any other character.
Cammy’s AAA runs into human shields and doesn’t hit multiple things. I think in the Marvel history thread that was way Commando started being used more. She is a lot better on point than Commando though, especially with her nifty double jump reset. And if you get lucky with KBA in the corner, you can juggle into another instead of OTGing.
i think she stop being used because of 3 things 1st kba randomly missing 2nd her below average defense and 3rd the opinion sent is her worst match up
I think if you give cammy a tool set to fight her bad matchups, she can compete. Cammy ron is pretty solid but refly sentinel all day will wax that ass. However, giving cammy maybe something like cammy\sent\cap will definitely help out cammy vs sent.

seriously? this is one of the infinites in this game that I never was able to get more than 2 reps of…
She’s amazingly good, but most all of her effectiveness when I see her played is tied up to hitting KBA. It’s a gamble, and other characters have better gambles and more options to getting to that character’s higher rewards. So she’s an excellent character like many… just not The Answer. 
ugh KBA on sent… nothing like getting a huge sentinel corner combo midscreen because of that shit.
i still play cammy all the time tho. cammy/doom is awesome.
