Well here’s the thing about 360’s, and any other larger rotations for that matter. its all about rhythm and speed. what intimidates peoples is the amount of air (which isn’t that much at all) and speed it takes to land a CLEAN 360. i have landed plenty of sketchy 360’s with not enough air, and almost busted my ass, but i have gone big for a flawless one not too many times.
you should get comfortable with busting big slow rotating 180’s, backside and frontside. once you get that down, a 360 is all about tweaking your edge right before take off so you can gain that extra momentum for the rotation. for a fronstide 360, when you are going off the jump, start to slide your heel edge slightly so that you go off the jump and you sort of fling yourself. throw your hips into it, and when you complete the first rotation, be sure to bring your legs around to stomp the landing.
the world tends to lose image when your spinning, so keep your head straight for that landing.
the way i describe it sounds very systematic, but it all happens so fast in real life that you will get what i’m saying. its all about surrendering your fears and focusing on having fun.
oh and be sure to keep ur legs up so you dont land on a caught edge.
backside 360’s… thats a different story.
thats what i call gnarly u must’ve been going fast as fuck. keep ridin!
I don’t snowboard - black, and not like maxx  - but I’ll be damned if I don’t own some snowboarding gear just to rock the cold shoulder lean during the winter. Shit is ice. Fiyah? No, ice.
see earlier posts for transition period. i believe talking about switching skateboarding to snowboarding was one of our first discussions…if not here then in the skateboard thread.
its not too hard a transition its just a bit weirder.
Autocrat1: wait wut? your black but not like me? wtf lol.
God damn I suck at Snowboarding and I’ve been quite a few times and have my own snowboard.
Last time I went I was scared of falling (there is no powder where I go it’s just fucking ice) so I just braked down the mountain like a pussy. My board is 160 and I’m 5’8, I think it’s too long for me or I have bad boots or bindings.
I smell like scentless Irish Spring and drink dark liquids off a curb when I’m broke during the sunset hours while giving random pregnant women FUs when they bitch about dat child support, homie.
So yes. I’m black. But not like you. You over there doing Coolboarders strong style backyard wrestling plus @ and shit. wtf GETS MONEY
Nigga this ain’t “Know Your Heritage: Sal Masekela Edition”.
Actually the pic makes it look a lot worse than it actually feels. It doesn’t hurt at all after a week, before it hurted when I pressed on it and the sometimes, blinking, but thats about it.
Haha, that’s where I go. The last time I went, I fell too much. So i’m taking it easy for now. We might go this Friday, but i’m opting to go hang out in New Brunswick.
Just got back from kicking horse last night. It was tight as hell, went down the Feux Bowl and almost killed myself. Escape with just a bruised shoulder, but my friend wasn’t so lucky. Hit a 10 foot drop in whiteout conditions and dislocated an elbow. Had to spend half the day sitting in the hospital with her ><!
Anyways, the season is upon us once again (in a couple of weeks, anyways). Where are people headed to this year? I’ll be hitting up Jasper and Banff for sure, and than might head up to Whistler later in the season. I really want to go to Mount Washington on Vancouver Island as well.
I picked up new bindings this weekend (2008 Burton Triads on clearance, gotta spend within the budget). I want new boots too, but those can wait. Midway through the season, I might get a new board since the K2 I’m riding now is starting is show it’s age.
lol hey man, the last post before this was buried was in march. The season lasts till May (depending on where you are). I am easily board till mid-late april. :lovin:
