Terry and Mai lose hard to duo?
no way… of course all the practice I get is with kaillera scrubs, but mai controls the air better than duo, so its easier to get out of corner traps and the air shit is punishable, same with terry’s rushdown burn knuckle stuff… but yeah, whatever…

First off My team has Mai in it. Anyone who says that she loses to Doulon must be a nub. If you cant handle doulon than dont play. In every single game you have a doulon. But people learn to overcome them. Doulon is hard to stop? Yes. But it all depends on how you play it. There are soo many ways of stopping him and to like name all these characters who supposedly “lose hard” to him just means that your a nub. Stop crying about it and just deal with him.
Oh yah And Terry is good too against doulon. All the other ones can beat doulon too, its probably just because that guy who made that list probably got owned hardcore style.

Just out of curiosity; is anyone planning to get this on tape? You know, the amount of public match vids from, say Garou is somewhere around, none at all.

I didnt know about this thread … but that game is the most popular kof in cali right now ( more than 03 IMO ).
Dont worry if there will be enough people that will enter a 02 tourney … I GUARANTEE you I will bring at least 10 peeps that play really good.
I can make some advertisement at many asian arcades so for kof 2k2 … mmmmmhh … u will have like a total of 20 participants.
I dont mind playing SVC either … its broken and shit but there has to be some good Chunli, Ryu, Guile, Tabasa, Zero, Riot Iori and Geese players that think they can beat anyone by using cheap tactics right ? ( me included =P ).
Also I would like to have a rematch with Arturo in SVC … Zero vs Zero.
KOF 2K3 is new and fun … but its hella stupid ( and Im not saying this coz of Duolon … but the system itself ) … but sure why not ? … I will join that one too.
But for real … put KOF 2k2.

As for Kof98, there should be some limitations on the glitches that cause infinites (Shermie, Athena, etc.). Unblockables and well… Goro are not really “Game-breaking”, but there are things that should be discussed if there is going to be a serious tournament. That’s all.
Oh, a lot of West Coast players (I’m from LA/Vegas) enjoy Kof2k3 and have been demanding tourneys for it and, even though I don’t play it myself, I believe that it deserves recognition as a tournament ready (Fair) game.
Like I said this tournament is a “will see when we get there event” in other words, if there isn’t more than 25 people we’re not going to bother running a tournament on it.
Just because we don’t run a tournament on it doesn’t mean you can’t. We’ll be doing this in the “lounge” area of EVO, in other words anyone can do whatever they want, so anyone can run the tournament. We simply won’t if theres not enough people.
As far as KOF2k3 , not to be rude but we care less about who’s demanding a tournament and care more about who actually shows up to play in the tourney. As far as any of the other possible games and their “issues” this is the place to discuss them. Like any other tournament anything that resets, freezes or other obvious things will result in disqualification.
There’s no reason non-gamebreaking glitches should be disallowed in KOF 98, if that’s what you’re implying. It’s the same as any other tournament game.

So, has it been determined what platform this will be on? MVS? AES? DC?
Sure hasn’t originally it was going to be played on MVS cabinets but the staff says that we are not allowed to bring cabinets to Evo. So, we’re going to have to find alternatives, we may do it on AES systems or try and fine the best facimile without going XBOX lol, they haven’t expressly said whether they care about XBOXness BUT I’m assuming emulation is out.
