Ahh…“Wild Ambition” Mr. Karate-Ryo…to this day, he’s still the only SNK boss that truly rivals RB Special’s “Nightmare Geese” in overall “bad-ass-ptitude”, in my eyes. :wgrin:
As I said, definitely wouldn’t be opposed to seeing him again, or perhaps upgraded even moreso than before. How about a “Sen-retsu-ken” that ACTUALLY hits for 1000 hits even? Expand on the Air Haohshikouken premise, and allow him to throw multiple ones in a row, like his old man Takuma would for the end of his Ryukou Ranbu? And speaking of the double R, the “new” version of Mr. Karate’s should, if it connects, easily do like 75% of your health, as adequate punishment for if you left yourself open for it. :lol:
I think Microsoft is so desperate to sell 360s in Japan that they’d probably fund SNK worldwide releases just to try and sell more systems in Japan.
I did read an story yesterday about Microsoft really pushing the live arcade games, and hinting that it may ease up on the size limit to compete with Sony, who apparently has no plans for a size limit on games (or at least is expected to be more reasonable than Microsoft and it’s piddly 59 megabytes). Personally I’d love to see the games sold this way, because it would allow more people to get them. I’ve stopped trying to buy 2d fighters in stores, because none of the stores in my area carry them unless a used copy shows up. That certainly isn’t helping the scene any. Imagine how many more people might be playing 2d games on Live if the games were actually available instead of being released once in very limited quantities?
This is great news. I’ve already imported all these games (Watashi Wa Nihon-go Gakusei desu) but I will glady rebuy them in my native tounge just to get some comp on them.

Plus seeing as these games are coming to the US, does this mean Evo will have these games in future years?

My guess for the new Garou would be high-quality 2D sprites, and not 3D, simply because the fanbase more closely identifies with 2D. Then again, they have been shifting to 3D more and more lately with KOF and the new Metal Slug.
I really want the Metal Slug collection, too. The Wii is gonna win this console war, and SNK has already won my heart for continuing to make games I want, unlike Capcom (MORE RESIDENT EVIL! MORE DEVIL MAY CRY! ZOMBIESANGSTZOMBIESANGST!).
But I don’t think Garou is gonna be 3d. I don’t think any of them are going to turn totally 3d. I’m thinking KOF, Garou, and all future games are gonna end up being GG-quality 2d.
You know, reading back that quote, it really does sound like they might mean 3D.
They don’t say “high-res 2D graphics.” They say “modern high-res graphics,” in which “modern” could easily mean “3D.” They also say it won’t be “low-res 2D,” which could be implying that it won’t be low-res AND that it won’t be 2D.
Hope I’m wrong, though. I can’t do 3D fighters, period.
