We had a SF get together a while back and one of the guys brought one in. It played great. I would suggest trying to get the 3 system one since the master system is still big in Brasil.
Any particular reason you wouldn’t try to go the route of emulators?
I may be wrong here, but I believe I read at some point that the NES version of these things screws up frequently. My friend has just the NES one itself (not the two or three in one) and he is on his third one. He has had his most recent one for a while but the first two he got went bad with in a year.
I’ve considered buying one of these and putting it in storage in case my NES or SNES dies some day.
So, I’ve a lot about it and i found out some games have minor problems. I know there are only a few games that do it, but still it can be THE game you want. I was planning on buying a console because it will be my girlfriends christmas present, she’s a casual gamer and she owns a ds and played the SNES as a kid, and she wanted to play the games on the real deal again.
I decided not to buy an actually i just bought an original SNES. I went to a part here in my city which sells lots of electronics, the only problem is that 80% or more are fakes so it was hard to find everything original, at the end i bought a console in the box, 2 controllers (1 original), Fake bomberman 5, and original Mario All-Stars and original Super Mario World, everything went down for 150 reais (US$75).
But, i’d say that for you guys in usa those dual-consoles are awesome, and i heard theres one with genesis.
Ps: the comment about mastery system: master system is a dead console, i’ve read on the internet, specially on insert coin, comments about brazilian manufacturers doing new versions of the master system. They exist, and they are sold on some department stores and some old people with no knowledge of technology buy them for the kids and the prices are abusive, they are as expensive as a ps2 sometimes. But in general, i dont know a single person (besides me) who owns a master system, and i own the original one in the box just because i had it when i was a kid. >D
I could be wrong but I believe games using co-processors (like Capcom’s C2 or Nintendo’s FX) won’t work on these dual system consoles, someone please correct me if I’m wrong.
I want to get one of the NES, SNES, and Genesis games. I don’t care if it brakes soon, I just want to see Sonic 2, Mario Bros. 3, and Link to the Past all in the same system at the same time.
I have the Single Slot NES Clone made by Yobo. I recently refurbished my Original NES by adding the new 27 pin connector and completely cleaning the insides. It works great, but I worry about constant use killing the console eventually. I was in a Play-n-trade and saw the single slot Clone playing Mario 3. It was only 25$ so I figured I’d pick one up and see how it works.
overall, the thing is awesome. But there are some issues if your like me and want everything to be Perfect.
Some of the things that are different are…
The sounds of things like Coins in Mario are on a slightly different pitch than when played on a Real NES. Same thing for some of the colors. The colors appear a bit Darker or Lighter on some games. Some games such as Ninja Gaiden lag a bit and other games like Tecmo Super Bowl “Flicker” a LOT more than when played on the original.
I believe there is only 4 or 5 games that are completely unplayable due to the chipsets of the games. I know one is Castlevania 3 and I think another may be Kirby’s dream land.
If you want something just to play some games on and don’t really care about everything being "Perfect, I would definetly reccomend one.
I use mine a LOT as me and my buddies both play and collect NES games. I have around 350 and only about 5 are unplayable. So far nothing has been unplayable except what I mentioned
Sorry to hijack the thread, but I have an NES without any cables and I want to know which ones to buy. Can I go to Radio Shack and get them? Or do I have to special order them online or something?
Any standard composite RCA cable shoul work, I lost mine too and I just use the cables that came with my original PSx (the very 1st version of the PSX came with standard composite jacks)
the retro duo is great and works with games like Castlevania 3. I just bought original real snes controllers to use…havent had any problems with either nes or snes games
I might get one of these soon.
Super FX games work on the nes/snes ones.
the Retro Duo or whatever its called is compatible with real snes controllers. meanwhile, the nes/gen ones do NOT recognize official controllers which is balls.
yeah, you might as well get one, although I would rather pick up the real deal.
