Best dante I ever saw and learned from was Yipes… and he doesn’t play the character anymore. ;_;

I believe he was running Spencer, Vergil, Hawkeye. But team tournament is character locked, so maybe he’ll bring out his Dante today for singles.

well, today at casuals, my Dante did almost nothing outside of Weasel Shot assist and got bodied every time he was out… seems I have less of a Dante than I think lol. any tips for neutral game? I really need to fill the hole in my team which is Dante right now. my Strange is already extremely lame and my execution is solid enough to convert into the Flames loop consistently, but once Dante’s out, I don’t really know what else to do except go into Stinger range and Stinger bc Reverb Shock for chip damage, with some teleport + Bolts assist mixups here and there.

Just mix it up and learn to hitconfirm off most of your hits.

-Jump, air play, air dash jH

If the opponent is a bit of a distance away, the Air Play hits first and either makes the opponent block or they get hit and jH continues the combo.
If the opponent dashes under AP, the jH crosses them up.

-Missiles/Drive + Bolt assist

Use it for zoning/keepaway purposes. I usually do this with Ryu’s Hadoken assist and the basic purpose is to get your opponent annoyed and once they’re in range that’s when you start doing things like crossup jHs.

Not sure how well it works with Bolt assist but in the corner you can do lockdown assist + beehive. The last hit of beehive counts as an overhead and ground bounces so it’s easy to hitconfirm off of. It’s also +3 on block so it’s completely safe unless they pushblock Dante during the first few hits (but Bolt assist should have him covered).

Crazy Dance forces a neutral tech, and if you KO Phoenix with it she won’t transform until she hits the ground. You’re left with a little bit of advantage, but not enough to do an Acid Rain, which was my plan. And I think the transformation explosion destroys projectiles anyway.
There’s enough time to jump up and do Hammer, and the invincibility frames will go through the burst. It’s really obvious, and the Phoenix player probably won’t get hit by it unless he’s doing something like mashing with his eyes closed, but getting +16 on block is better than Phoenix getting +21 from you blocking her explosion.

Even better though, I can do Reverb Shock > Crazy Dance like 80% of the time now. Quadruple-tapping never felt so good.

there are probably more efficient ways of doing it, though. this is just how I cancel into Acid Rain and teleport.

yipes’s isn’t the most stylish, but in terms of consistency, damage output and level of aggressiveness as he rushes down his opponent proves why his Dante is so good, to be honest though Wesker is definitely his absolute best character in my opinion, he even basicaly perfects F-Champ with Wesker in the video posted above.

I havent seen him play him in the last majors though.
I wish he played something like Dante Vergil Hawkeye or Spencer Dante Vergil

Hey guys, does anyone have any good combos with Dante using Hidden Missles Assist?
Or what a good beam confirm would be(using Magnus.)

I haven’t touched the game since Vanilla MvC3, so I’m having a bit of trouble acclimating back to his BnBs,
Not sure how to keep the combo going after the Air play in the beginning of the bnb, the stand H,S after landing seems to want to whiff all the time.
Any tips for making that easier to land? or should I do killer bee combos?(not sure if Sky Dance can reset the ground bounce used by the killer bee.

Rawrr so what can Dante do in terms of GTFO off of me? Ive got Magnetos tridashing at me and all I can think of is UPBACK.

Plan out your normals since they beat Magneto’s in range but take time to start up. Also, use assists

Sucks to say, but block. Dante/mags match up is kinda dependent on a lot of things. Do they have an assist, do you have an assist, which ones. Just straight up dante vs mags is kind of annoying, at long range the only thing you can do is jump just out of MB height and air play in. You can’t get too close cause he has faster normals, I try and stay about mid range and let him come to me while throwing out 5m. Or if he’s close enough to the corner I’ll pressure with airplay while calling vergil, hoping he hits a button so I can get combo off of it.

But once that dude is on you… block, don’t stop blocking and use pushblock to get as much ground as you can. Also, be sure to watch out for tick throws.
