haven’t been playing this game at all especially online.
it could go either way.
can i play the game how i want to?
can i do me?
sorry i just haven’t been in the mood to play smashbros whatsoever ,so i really don’t care about how i play or winning.
how is that being insulting. my interest has just been diminishing especially since i’ve realized the difference between offline and online play.
one can be detrimental to the other and idk about you but i’d rather have my offline be on point.
but most importantly it’s…a…game chill out and stopping taking all these things so closely to heart.
You’ve missed the point. It is just a game. A game you’re competing in against people who are struggling to stand up to you, and you are so passive about it it’s insulting. Claiming “oh, I’ll just go random” is rubbing salt in the wound, whether you mean it as an arrogant statement of superiority or just don’t give a damn about the whole thing. That you can’t see that makes you an asshole.
I do want to fight that Sceptile of yours I’ve heard so much about, online is just full of Lucario, Pika Libre and Mewtwo.
I don’t really think he actually meant to be insulting, moreso as he was offering it as a means to give me a chance of winning since he knows I have trouble in the Lucas matchup in general.
It does totally come off as passively insulting though, lol. But I don’t think that was really the intention.
it’s not my fault if someone else cares about this game more than i do. if someone gets upset because i don’t take it as seriously as they do then that’s not my fault and i will not feel guilty about it. if he even does not gonna assume either way.
this league isn’t a big deal.
it’s not my obligation to play anyway for anyone else.
also cynt this is between me and him how about you let him interpret this situation how he wants to.
That’s the worst part - he’s not even aware of the fact that it comes off the way it does, then gets all offended when he gets called out on it. And it’s a lose-lose: he loses, his opponent feels unsatisfied due to him sandbagging, and if he wins, he’s just hammered it in on his superiority over his opponent, regardless of his intent.
The way I see it, if he doesn’t give a shit about this, why is he bothering? It’s wasting everyone’s time. I can’t speak for everyone here, but I, for one, don’t exactly have all the time in the world to piss away. This shit is luxury, not an every day occurrence.
For a similar reason I’m leery of trollbro joining in the next one, as win or lose, his agenda’s filled due to him being so aloof about it. You can damn well expect him to ride the results the whole way, though.
Dude, items on? Crazy stages on? I was hoping the fun would be a great way to finally bury this nonsense.
Also now that I’ve been looking into the science of online play more and more I’m starting to realize just how little online means in most fighting games, rollback or Dolphin netplay with sub 5 buffer (being generous there) is all that matters. I don’t even see that matchup we had as a win anymore. It was a win*, if you want a real win or loss see me at Nebulous.
Smash 4 controller input lag by default is 7f, online it’s probably like 15f before ping fluctuations (still looking for hard data). Take it down a notch, it’s for convenient practice it’s not a proving ground.
