Smash Bros Ultra

Maybe Poltergust could blow enemies away if not held, but WHEN held, it pulls them towards him and he auto-grabs them when they get close.

I agree, missiles should be able to be aimed, and that would make samus even better. I used Fusion Samus because of ice missiles, and that is the only version that does. Alt. Costumes exist though for a reason, and I would want them here in this game if it were made.

Edges are going to kill you in this version. If you choose to drop off of the ledge, you go into a falling animation and you cannot grab the ledge again. The same thing goes for wall jumpers.

Actually, in Prime 3, Samus was able to use Ice Missles. Her Fusion Suit as an alt. would be nice. My only problem is if ZSS were in, you don’t have the pieces of armor. Then again, that’s contradictory against canon to begin with.

That sounds nice for a planking solution, but it sounds extreme. It should be tested more than anything else.

Go play Balanced Brawl and stfu

Did. Didn’t find it too enticing.

Also if any of you EVER say anything about changing luigi ever again, I will e-hurt you.

Green missile is detrimental to my air fireball game. You guys obviously don’t play luigi or else you’d keep stupid comments like that to yourselves.

Oh my god why am I so mean?

Only to yours, and Green Missile has zero uses in competitive play outside of being a recovery tool for Luigi.

Well, now, Power Suit it is.

Agreed. The only other way is to take away invincibility on the jumps after the first.

One other thing I think could resolve the issue is to give ledge grabs the same limit tether grabs have before you get back on the stage.

If competitive play is your point of relevance than shouldn’t we just revamp luigi’s entire move set? When’s the last time you saw a luigi do well in a tournament that mattered? Luigi’s game in general is what you should be concerned about if you really want to make this game “better” and more balanced. He already has an amazing set of normals that when spaced properly leave him relatively safe. Throwing in one or two “bad” moves is what makes characters feel more balanced. Not giving them a shit ton of really really good techniques. All that does is make the game more spammy.

facepalm
You don’t balance out characters by giving them shitty moves. That’s just bad design. They should be balanced so that they have advantages and disadvantages in certain situations. For example, in Street Fighter, Chun-Li has difficulty on wakeups and lacks a solid anti-air. As another example, Pikachu is a glass cannon in the Pokemon games, especially when equipped with the Light Ball.

You’re gonna kill your game before it’s been thought with poor design. RIP Ultra

Care to explain?

It would be better to revamp his move set, but his normals are all good, given his Smashes are very powerful on their own.

We don’t even have a good idea on HOW to revamp his moveset anyways. I see what you are getting at though. Make Luigi his own diverse character.

Some changes to him:

Poltergust is Side-B. Pressing B shoots out a boo. Holding B shoots out a chain of boos that grab the opponent that draws the target in. Also acts like a tether off stage.
As a continuing contrast to Mario, Luigi now shoots Ice Fireballs but in the same way he already did. When hit at higher percents, the Ice actually will freeze his opponents.
Up-B now goes higher and has a arc like it did in Smash 64.

Some changes like these can be made, but revamping his whole moveset outside of specials is very difficult.

uh, Sir Dan is a Sony character.

just wanted to get that out.

I know. It was just a wish thing xD.

How would everyone think of items being forced in matches?

I would rather not see that happen. However, I’m all for the Item Standard Play setup.

Yeah I would have to agree, but I might have thought of something just as cool.

Items that only appear on specific stages.

Think about it for a second. Laser Gun and Beam swords? Star Fox levels. Bomb-ombs and Mushrooms? Mario levels.

Of course, there would be items that do appear on all stages. like the gooey bomb for example.

Pikachu is not a glass canon UNLESS it has a light ball…not especially. Deoxes Attack Version is your true definition of a glass canon in Pokemon.
