Trying to get a big posse to go down to portlands SLUGFEST this weekend.
After coming back from florida and seeing how much the east coast supports each other scene (as well as california), we need to do the same.
Did you know that portland (as well as seattle) typically get 25 to 30 players on average for a tourney? Did you also know that all we would need is a little more than 50% of those players to consistently attend each others events to produce AMAZING turn outs. No longer would we have to suffer from low turn out events if we all support each other.
This is just portland and seattle. If we add Canada in the mix (yes im speaking to you guys as well vancouver) we would be pushing 60+ regional events all the time. We are a mere 2 hours away from each other. There is no reason why we should not support each others scene.
Now that I have preached my piece. I have one car going down already that has: Me, Riki-OH, Dugg, BowFlex, Mor. I highly advise some others to rally up and come down to support portland SF event if you have nothing better to do. If you already have plans, its all good.
Anyone who is thinking of going to NCR needs to be going down to portland tomorrow or should be heading up to Support Canada Cup. One of the two. Thats right, dont forget about CanadaCup goign on this weekend as well. Im sure Carlos is heading that way,he loves to run off to canada and practice alone with the candadians =P Thanks for thinking of others Carlos (yes putting u on blast lol, all in love buddy).
Thanks gents, you guys rock. Portland is working hard to level up, and has been on the rise more lately ; ) We’ll definitely repay Seattle’s support by rallying our people to get up there. Missoula of course is down for the cause too, I am going to reach out to Eugene and a few other places as well. NW represent, look forward to seeing you all in the house!
much respect, i havent met many of Seattle’s players in person but its awesome to hear you guys care about the surrounding states/cities and can get people hyped to drive out and support other scenes(as well as your own in the process). really makes me wish i had more money so i could contribute more to road trips, tournies, etc. i might not have 12$ to enter Slugfest this month but maybe ill come just to support it.
I go up to Canada because of the sloppy closed secret sessions that go on around seattle and in the north too (yes Cole I know about these and I’m not putitn you on blast but I’m putting the ones who know who they are on blast) so I figured I would lvl up playing people happy to play big sets rather than just hey lets get a few games in then chop it up.
I think I should just be super quiet from now on. Like super secret squirrel status.
Edit: I’m putting the ones I mentioned on blast because they are free to me and they know it. You know who you are.
edit: And yes, coming back from Florida, i can see why Future keeps saying the NW’s free. We don’t play enough/we don’t travel enough. More SERIOUS sessions. The only serious session I know about are held at the robo factory when the mysterious woman leaves. We really just need an arcade like atmosphere to play serious matches. At least at the arcade money’s on the line so no one wants to lose.
I respect the Portland peeps, they came down a couple of times to our Olympia tournaments…They also had an awesome tournament w/ Bragging Rights. Portland needs more love
