This game has overexagerated eyes and no one has a pronounced bridge in their nose. Any attempt to define these character’s races you will find impossible.
He knows that, it’s just baiting for replies.
To people like him, any attention is the best thing you could give him. It’s a wonderful time every time I remember that SRK has an ignore function.
Why is this conversation even taking place? Debating that fictional fantasy worlds don’t have enough racial diversity is a little pointless. If anything it’s more a discussion to be had about the entire entertainment industry from Saturday morning cartoons to A-list movies. Carrying on a discussion about it in a thread about an indie fighting game is even sillier. Maybe they’ll include color pallet swaps aplenty, and let everyone be green black or blue at their choosing.
I don’t see why y’all arguing about race for in video games. We see less blacks, Latinos, Arabs, Native Americans, and Indians etc. because there aren’t as many of those people in the industry.
Thank you SRK for trolling this thread and destroying it.
The same principles are at play. Also with an indie game the developers are more involved with the community and have more control over the content than if they have a huge publisher hanging over them. But you are right this is more of a conversation about the entire entertainment industry.
On a differennt subject; has it ever been established how many super each character will have?

Seriously… I feel bad for even responding now.
On topic, are there any plans for an in game art gallery?
Can we get back on topic I was enjoying reading the general discussions people had about the GAME itself I could care less if any character was black, white, hispanic or what as long as they have generally interesting designs in both aesthetics and gameplay. Oh and also I am black myself before someone pulls the racially insensitive card.
On topic - That interview someone linked was interesting everytime I read something new about this game I get even more excited it sounds awesome so far. Can’t wait till we see some new characters. So far I am liking how Peacock sounds and she could very well make it into my team. Miss Fortune is who I am really interested in seeing though since I have a tendancy to pick cat girls <3.
Yeah, it’s impossible to be racially insensitive if you’re black.
I haven’t seen this pic posted here but here’s a couple of characters that some think may be possible male characters for the future. I saw the pic on dustloop.

yeah from what it has been said, there are a good posibility for male chars on the game though not necesarily on this iteration at least not before the dlc chars
hopefully those 2 would be the next dlc chars
Meh I’m I dont really care for any male characters. Maybe if one of them just oozed personality or something…
They should just go Capcom on them and give super low health. Well, not really, but it would be funny.
What on Earth is your avatar from?
I think it’s from this. Manyuu Hikenchou - MyAnimeList.net Haven’t seen the show though but I remember seeing a figure that has a girl that looks like her.
I read the synopsis. I thought it was a joke until I found scans of the manga. I’m kinda speechless.
The characters are pretty individual, and we don’t have strict rules for who gets how many supers of whatever levels. Really the only criteria we use is if it’s good for their play style or not.
We’re investigating some things along these lines at the moment, but nothing final yet.
Fight the power!
You know, I was thinking about this reply while driving today. Honestly I don’t know enough about the animation process. Could you explain a bit more deeply? What exactly does keyframing" mean for you guys? Since you’re dealing with a fighter do you have to draw more that say just the beginning of the punch and full extension; I’m assuming you’d have to keyframe recovery for the moves too since the characters each have a distinct fighting style. Also I believe I remember it being mentioned that some characters are at like 1300+ frames. About what percentage of that is done in house?
What kind of test did the animators you picked have to go through? I assume they had to prove they could match the project’s style.
Keyframes are those in the animation that are most important, like in a fighting game when a punch connects.
Beautiful example

You can also pick any anime ever, or the third season of boondocks, and see that when talking, most of their bodies will stop except for their lips, which is overused and really easy to see in Soul Eater

What system will this be for?
