That’s not really a shout-out, so much as it is foreshadowing. Assuming the story hasn’t changed, Annie is famous and has her own tv show that Peacock and Parasoul are big fans of. >_>
I think someone already pointed it out but you can see Venus in the Chapel Stage too.
Yeah. IIRC Annie’s parents(mother I guess?) wished on the skull heart she would never grow up so she is stuck as a 12 year old girl forever. She is also the face of the anti-skullgirls PSA campaign.
You just noticed this? Kinda weird, considering it’s her normal blocking animation and I think the cinder block is when she’s blocking low.
I don’t know if anyone else notices this, but Peacock’s air block animation has her throwing out an L-block from Tetris! I know the first time I saw this I was like “wow really?!”, but it immediately caught my attention. All these references for Peacock are starting to make my head spin, but it shows the Skullgirls team is going the extra mile. I can’t say enough how much I love this game right now
EDIT: Just saw that Peacock’s crouching forward is the “burn an ant with the magnifying glass” shit I did as a kid. Goddammit, just take my fucking money already.
A little something else, Peacock’s crouching medium punch (or perhaps it was kick) is her crouching down and using one of the eyes to burn a bug an ant on the floor. If you stop the animation before you get to zap the bug the bug gets to crawl away, and you can see it just scamper away full screen. Haha. I thought that was retardedly awesome.
If you save an ant by cancelling, you can run over and kill it again with another cr.mk. You can stack a few ants if you’re gdlk and kill them all at once.
Yeah, I’m wanting to play Peacock just because of all her little nuances. It’s almost like everything she does makes some sort of reference to something.
So umm…
What are the plans to make this game a success in a country that hates all-girl animu fighters?
Like what do you say or show to the SF4 generation of players to convince them to try it?
Truthfully? Nothing any of us can say will get through to the people who are that closed-minded. They’ve already made a decision based on their vast insecurities they have with themselves, and that’s nothing that we can fix. They’ll have to make a conscious decision to change. All that we can do is just play the game and have fun, and let them come to us.
You could always feel free to bleed us dry with DLC characters. I’d be more than willing to pay 100+ for this game over a period of time when all is said and done.
I don’t disagree with that, but when people respond with hatred and bigotry towards someone who suggests something of that nature to them, that that IS a sign of insecurities. The same can be said about people who don’t want to play a game that has an all-female cast (even though Skullgirls will add them later) because they “only identify with male characters”.
You’re talking about two different things: people who are offended by mere mention of something not inherently wrong but clashing with their interests, and people who would rather play a male character in a fighting game. The former has a multitude of psychological issues; the latter does not, at least not inherently due to their preference.
