In the end…linking like reaction anti airing or tech throwing or quickly blocking high/low sequences is just something you have to muscle memory. There’s just some things in fighting games that you gotta grind and that’s what makes them fun for me. They really test your mental and reactionary limits. It’s just now with the hit stun bar you get something much more visual for practicing than just “well I hope that’s the part of their hit stun animation where this should work”.
and I think that is going to help me immensely instead of the guess work…changing up timing in training mode in SF trying to type in a button one frame slower or quicker w/o any visual confirmation is frustration to me.
yeah, timing just as the hitstun bar fills up will provide a GREAT linking guide. in fact i cant think of a better visual way to do it.
will there be 1-frame links in this game? as im sure plinking wont be available right? (sorry if thats a stupid question)
do you need them? there are magic series.
Probably? They are a byproduct of hitstun and startup.
Will they be important or emphasized? Not likely, I doubt it.
There might be some super optimized links or something that require it just by nature of what people find but I doubt you’ll see anything that’s 1 frame that’s required to utilize a character. Mike Z said he wants to specifically make sure the game doesn’t devolve to grinding just frame shit to learn a character. There may be a character or 2 that gets something like this figured out but it’s not going to be like across the cast shit to learn like CVS2, SFIV or Guilty Gear.
