Skullgirls' Trophies and Achievements

If you take the win with this you should get TOKI WA TOMARE! achievement, right?

Any trophy that doesn’t require netplay I like

Tough luck, fightings are kinda oriented on the netplay.

I don’t dislike things that can be unlocked online, I just don’t like when that’s the only mode you can get them in.

I guess it will be mix of both.

I hate the “win 10 ranked matches in a row” I hate it with such a passion!..

I also hate the “Complete all the almost impossible and completely useless in real fights 1-frame trials/combos”

Please do not include any of those…

I’d say it’s kinda late to ask them. Trophies are already in.

Slightly old post I know, but I just want to point out that I disagree with this specific example, especially considering your idea that achievements should act as a subset tutorial. When I was learning FGs I found that trying to play/win a match with only normals really helped me pace myself, learn to space pokes correctly, and improve my ability to read and adapt. It may not be something that would happen in a mid-high level match but it’s certainly a perfectly good way to slow yourself down and learn some basics against a real opponent instead of a training/tutorial dummy.

The Hateful 1: Finish a round with 1 health as Painwheel.

So Toxic: Poison each member of an opponent’s 3 character team with a different poison.

Tethercat: Keep Ms. Fortune’s head moving for more than X seconds. (X being some number you think works best)

Octagon: Score over eight different combos with more than eight hits for each character in training mode.

Yeah, it’s good as a self-training tutorial, but it’s not something that happens in actual games and should directly be encouraged by the game. I crassly increased my blocking/throwteching by playing several games where I didn’t do anything other than block and crouchtech. But that shouldn’t be a trophy. My opinion.

The thing is, if you make it an achievement, then people would do it just for the achievement and nothing more. They wouldn’t understand the point behind using your normals to better your neutral game. Teaching a man to fish and all that.

here are some achievement ideas I would like to see in the game.

  • Block 1000 attacks
  • Punish 100 attacks
  • Finish <insert any mode here> / beat the game
  • Use 250 bars of meter!
  • Do everyone’s level 3
  • spend an <Random amount of time> in practice mode.
-Win 1 game with all team sizes (1,2, and 3)
    -Kill 100 people.
    -Perform 50 grabs
-In a 3v3 battle come back with only one character left against at least 2.
-Use more than 1 super attack in 1 combo.
    -combo off of 50 otgs
    -cause 50 wall bounces
    -Deal a total of <Large Amount> damage !!

I’m upset that this game will be limited to only12 achievements. =[

Where’d you hear 12? @~ @

^

It’s probably a limit for DL games on XBLA.

AFAIK it’s that they can only go up to a certain amount of points total, not achievements total-- read a few posts up the page. P:

Name one XBLA game with more than 12 achievements without dlc. Even if there is one or even a few it’s not the majority and I think it wouldn’t be realistic to expect more.

My hats off to you, sir.

XBLA games always have 12 achievements before DLC.

Oh, all right. My bad! D:

I don’t doubt they’ll add more with DLC though.
