Skullgirls Trial/Demo

Original demo had IM. For some reason, Capcom released an updated demo later on that had a different set of playable characters.

I think you’re right, not sure about the tutorials being available but that would be a very nice touch. If they are, I’d expect them to just be the basics rather than going into the advanced techniques. Enough to wet our whistles before the game drops.

That’s…really strange.

I believe it was because of issues activating the full game with the original demo. If you remember, downloading the demo actually gave yo the full game, buying the game just gave you a key that unlocked everything.

KoF XIII demo is how I expect FG demos should be (when they do have demos).

MvC2 was a good demo bc it had 6 characters which let you create a good number of teams and let you play a good number of people. It was just a bad demo bc you could only play 1p vs 2p IIRC.

Yeah that game has a good demo.

Hopefully they dont do it like some games where even though they do the demo and unlock method, you cant access the demo unless you buy the game:wtf:

What is it consist of?

IIRC it has the system tutorial as well

So, it has arcade, on-line and tutorial, right? Is VS mode included?

No arcade, just tutorial, vs, and online.

but should the skullgirls demo have online? I dont think it should. maybe if there was some kind of time limit. Like say you have 15 minutes of Online time like the Blacklight demo

Since online and online quality is quickly becoming a major selling point for fighting games, yes. Especially if the online is amazing.

If MvC3 had a demo with online play, I wouldn’t have bought that shit and Capcom knows it.

so what would be the best way for the skullgirls demo to include online? Would my way be enough or maybe it should have no limit…

Limit the characters. The MBAACC demo for PC has online, but only allows you to play with 4 characters (2 of which are alternate versions of the others).

3 out of 8 characters playable (the OG 3) so they can explore the team sizes

Problem is that anybody who wants to play any team consisting of those three(or less considering team sizes) won’t have to buy the game.

And constantly get stuck playing quick match with an ad to buy the game all the time at the end of the match with other players on the demo?

You’re also assuming the worst about people. If they like the game, why would they be content with just playing a small piece? Tease them enough to get them interested.

Make it so they can only join against folks who have the demo. Or, they can also make it so that the demo is time locked (like the one for Sonic Generations) where it expires after some amount of time.

Thats what I was thinking as well. So 3 chars for 15 mins, or all 8 for like 5 mins?

I was suggesting something like: 3 characters for a month and then you can’t use the demo any more. Just like the Sonic Generations demo.
