sure, but that’s the character’s playstyle. the assist isn’t really locking you down, unlike cerebooty. what doesnt it do?
True. Though the game’s strict anti chicken blocking system makes it so you don’t necessarily need a multi hitting assist just to keep people on the ground.
With characters like Painwheel or Valentine it’s the character’s play style + bunches of hits that mixed in with throws and staggered block strings will get people scared to escape your pressure.

SG has the MvC2-style pushblock, which helps. It also has 3f vulnerable jump startup AND 2f vulnerable jump land, both of which won’t cancel to pre-block pose…so if you simply hold up-back the opponent has 5 whole frames to hit you (high OR low) each time you land. And, the throw tech window on reaction is only 3f, which is down there with GG’s 2f window. (The window on anticipation is quite large because if they throw you out of your throw’s startup you’ll auto-tech, however this means going through a throw whiff when you guess wrong.) Plus, if you get touched in the air, when you fall your blockstun will end when you land, meaning if you’re still holding up-back they’ll have those 3 frames to hit you again.
there are a “few” things it doesnt do well that other assists do quite well:
it doesnt affect midrange lockdown at all since if used in that way most characters will crouch under it. it doesnt affect full/near fullscreen jump heights. it doesnt affect the area directly above the point characters head which means that if you use it to try and gtfo while someone is jumpng from a close angle it wont work.
these arent huge weaknesses but neither are they small weaknesses, they are just something that the opposing player has to try and take advantage of in the smartest possible ways.
probably the best peacock double team is peacock/parasoul/double.
i dont think there are any holes on that team.
