Skullgirls OTT! -Random select is top tier

Journey is a wonderful game. It has my vote for best downloadable game(Sorry Skullgirls!). Journey is a creative and a beautiful game. There’s a ton of replay value too! If you every played another game called Flower, then you’ll love Journey.
So what you do in the game is simple, you journey to the top of the mountain.

Too bad Skullgirls wasn’t in the fighting game section, I really didn’t like any of the choices there lol.

I never played flower so I’m still not sure what to expect. Is there a story behind why your going to the mountain? Is there combat? Puzzles? Platforming? I’ve seen everyone go crazy over it but I really just don’t know.

It’s one of those games that you sort of have to experience to get a handle on. In a nutshell yeah, it’s more or less a game where you walk / glide from Point A to Point B, it’s not really a “game” in the traditional sense of the word so Zelda style puzzles/combat or Mario style Platforming is not what you’re going to get out of the game. Basically the beauty of the game is in the environments that it asks you to traverse through. It’s short but each experience is sort of defined by the people you meet and interact with along the way. All I can say is to avoid as much footage or screenshots of the game as you can and pick it up and play it yourself, either you’ll love it or you’ll hate it.

I’m such a skeptic. It sounds like one of those games I have to experience to know how good it is (like Nier). Is there a demo or something? I’m near broke (okay, not really broke, but school’s starting back and I’m gonna be broke soon after buying new books and shit).

A demo really wouldn’t be of any use anyway, you have to play the whole thing at once really. It’s interesting and the first “art” game that really had it’s intended affect on me. I found their previous game flower boring and really very pretentious, but Journey is quite masterfully presented. Going in knowing nothing about it is the best way, I didn’t even know what the core mechanics were when I played, but the world taught me pretty well.

Journey is a 1 to 2 hour game that you have to play in one go.

What do you do in Journey? You just move through the landscape. That is all.

And it’s amazing.

When you come across someone else online it’s so, well, enchanting.

One time I found someone in an early area of the game and we just decided to see how many times we could fly into each other from opposite sides of the map.

Mind you the only form of communication you have in the game contains no words. At all. You can not type or chat.

Sorry about the connection Zidiane, what I played was fun though.

Remember when I griped about that tournament having only one entrant for Skullgirls (me)? It ended up having four entrants: Me, Justin Wong, and two other guys whom I convinced to enter. One dropped out. We just ended up doing a round robin where winner took all. My match vs Justin was horrible. I hadn’t played the game in a month and it was obvious. That said, I still had more fun with it than I’ve ever had with P4A. I’m likely dropping it. I just don’t have fun with that game anymore.

Viral marketing isn’t a bad idea.

Yeah, I’m dropping P4A too. I just can’t get into it.

I’m not dropping it but I won’t take it seriously. Game feels kinda lackluster anyway.

Thus my trifecta remains: Skullgirls - Aquapazza - TTT2

haha

CHRIS G WAS RIGHT ALL YOU ANIME NIGGAS DO NOTHING BUT PLAY YOUR OWN GAMES.

Laughing at Chris G aside, I’m honestly enjoying P4a, more than SG, HELL FUCKING NO.

More than VSav? Lolololno

But, I like it over GG and BB and I like it as much as VP and AP but let’s be real, those games won’t even be side tournies at most events.

Still deciding on either Naoto (to continue my “girls with guns” thing I play in games like this), or Shadow Labyrs.

persona is pretty meh

VP’s never had a worthwhile tournament (thought it totally should) but AP will actually have bi-weeklies here in NJ.

>NJ

>SC

That would have been cool if I still lived in NY.

:shy:

GG will always be in my top 3. My recent found love of JoJos (both the Manga AND the game) might add the game into that too. I’ve always wanted to play Vampire Savior so maybe one day that will make its way into top 3. I guess my “trifecta” would be GG, JoJos, and SG.

And Rage of the Dragons, because that’s everyone’s favorite game.

I STILL think P4U looks like ass.
