Does someone know what’s up with NEC? Frontpage Article lists SG as part of the roster (in main games, too!), but neither any of the streams nor the schedule then say anything about it!?
Do they always have tons of games and only stream a quarter of them? Or is that not actually the game roster but some “possible” roster, and after gauging interest from the attendees, they cancelled it? Or will it be streamed after all (on the Bifuteki stream?) and if yes, when is it going to happen?

I’m wondering what’s included in the new character tutorials… anyone with a PS3 enlighten me? or point me to a video?

The character tutorials each have a couple pages of text, describing how the character is designed to play, and telling you how to get the character-specific achievement/trophy. After that, they have you go through all of the character’s specials and supers. They don’t go into combos at all.

There are also a few new non-character tutorials. The two I can think of offhand cover pushblocking and bursting.

There’s an explanation first on the fighting style, then another explanation on how to play the character more effectively, then a hint on how to obtain their trophy, although not specifically stated as such.

Then it goes through every move, what the move does and how to perform them. The end.

Very early timing. It’s basically frame trapping, and if the opponent jumps back you can only catch them in prejump frames; otherwise they will block.

The alternative to this is to make the opponent fall INTO the low/throw mixup, which is very common (I showed an example with Fortune and Filia is good doing that) where the opponent recovers from hitstun right before landing. That way, the low would hit right as the opponent is landing, or even before. It also makes it harder to tech the throw unless you time it correctly. Hit the throw too early and it will come out before they hit the ground, so no more throw startup equals no more throw tech.
