Skullgirls GD, Keepin' It Classy In Medici -- Now out in EU/AU!

I really hate the writing style, mostly, but it was also a bit… misguided?. I’d have focused more on other aspects of the game than he did. The worst part of the review was this:
"Some infinite combo prevention measures have been included as well, along with mechanics aimed at preventing truly unblockable attacks."
The IPS and the unblockable prevention got only one sentence, each. What the fuck. Basically everything this game does differently from other games is a result from these two things. You can’t just casually mention them in two sentences after you talked about every other mechanic. Imagine a IaMP review that ends with “oh yeah, you can also graze bullets, btw”.

played SG all day instead of doing my english report

lol this game is gonna ruin my life

“I’m pretty curious if the online is 3vs3, or like 1vs1 or 2vs2”.

Hehe, just waiting until he finds out about fully customizable team sizes and assists*. *

Not confirming anything, but my nitpick sense wishes to correct you in that SNES Y and B would be square and X. Tri and circle would be X and A on SNES. Miyamoto is weeping right now.

Holding buttons to disable menu inputs is a bug, and in fact would probably make any codes not work because it would count as an invalid button input.

I do my best. (^.^)

Well, we don’t require half circles for anything so you still get 3-frame quarter circles, but that’s a lot closer to reality on a stick. :^P A lot of the HitBox shenanigans won’t work in SG, such as superjump shortcuts, because in SG L+R or D+U are both neutral…unless the HitBox internally does things differently. (And yeah, I watch every one of those videos, the nonlinear 360s/720s BLEW MY MIND.) If you find anything screwy, please let me know! And, y’know, I’m glad you’re enjoying the game. :^)

Hmmm, Mike while you’re still here. What’s the correct input for 360 motion? Like minimal required one? F, D, B, U?
I recall you can yse diagonals in-between and instead of four main directions. Is that correct?

Is the 10th palette a code per character or if I put it in, it’ll unlock all the 10th colors?

we DONT need an X sim… no no no

-dime

Well funny you mention it, our PCB is already coded so that L+R is neutral, however, and this is where you can’t patch us (he he he), U+D is always up. The board does not send both at the same time, instead if both signals are sent simultaneously, up will override down. So the super jump/flash kick stuff still works. It’s not that we want to cheat in any way, it just makes life easier on everyone that way to not have to make sure you let go of down to get that stuff out. L+R=N is actually beneficial to the control type as well as a cheat prevention, so we keep it.

And of course if I find anything I’ll send it your way. I had planned that if I COULD do 3 frame half circles I’d let you know, and if I couldn’t I would thank you. Anything I find you’ll be the first to know. I’d also like to thank you for Painwheel. Quite possibly my favorite character in any Marvel style game ever.

Thanks for confirming that, I’ve tried a multitude of codes up until now and I think it’s time to move onto the second controller trick from back in the day…

At the risk of being pelted with tomatoes for bringing up this fighting game series has anyone tried a PS3/360 variation of ABACABB aka the blood code for Mortal Kombat for the 10 colour. I only skimmed this topic, but a lot of people seem to be looking mostly in VS series so I dunno if this had already been mentioned.

maybe someday marvel games will be called skullgirls style games

I’ve been through pretty much every fighting game I can think of, including some obscure gems, so I can rule that one out unless I’m entering them in the wrong places. Hell I’ve even tried entering the code while the credits are rolling in extras!

Well ideally to me Skullgirls will end up as being a Skullgirls style game and everything else will be whatever else it is, but for the sake of convenience right now it’s easiest to compare it to Marvel.

Minimal 360 is 4 dirs, you can skip every other dir but they have to be in order.
So F,D,B,U / DF,DB,UB,UF etc. Swizzled 360s won’t work. Only F,D,B,U or B,D,F,U will stop you from jumping.

Damn, HitBoxes do D+U for you. Time to write code that detects if it’s a HitBox and turns U into neutral. :^P

Hee hee. You intentionally watched the credits of a video game. MISSHUN COMPRETE. But I won’t force you to do it again.

Well Dustin will be glad to hear he can still do his 4 frame slide 360 then

Guys I found out the code.

– … -.- . / - .-. — .-… .-… … -. --. / --…

I think for that I should get some kind of hint to what type of game or how old said game code may be…

No? I tried :frowning:

Is it from Killer Instinct? I know you played that game. I can’t remember where but I’m sure you mentioned you liked the combo system or something similar.

k thanks =]
Your help for creation of russian wiki will not be forgotten, Mikhail 3!

Oh! And since Dr. Stanley has a name now I’m obliged to ask: do you have thoughts on his fighting style? I’m not asking if he’s going to make it in DLC or whatever, because I’m pretty sure you can’t say - just yes or no.
…and maybe tiny hint what his style will be like - if you feel like it of course…

Also this. (I should have made that link harder.)
