Especially when people use it wrong. Being an absolutely idiot about the concept of Electronic Sports doesn’t help anyone, I don’t care if you think the idea is silly, show some respect.

It was a nice attempt of getting conversation back on game-related topics but sadly
Call me ignorant, but I don’t get the whole e-sports thing? Is that that some people are feeling it’s more about the money then they playing? I’m sure not everyone feels that way. I think e-sports is a great way to expand fighting games into the mainstream. Who knows, one day NBC and Fox will be covering the Skullgirls 3: Skull Harder, world tournament, with big names like Mike Z and Justin Wong Commentating.

Well, might as well take advantage of that fly command. Painwheel does a great job with it, and it mixes up so well. So far the only down side is that long combo’s kill her damage output, same with Valentine. Damage scaling hurts them both. I think finding good reset combo’s for both of them is the key in the long run.
I hope this never happens, because I can tell you now, if my living situation stays the same…i’ll never watch televised tournaments :-/

Electronic Sports is a concept governing all facets of competitive gaming, from Fighting Games to Strategy games such as Star Craft, DoTA, League of Legends and on to shooters. E-Sports as a respected form of entertainment has been growing and lately the FGC has been becoming a bigger and bigger part of the forward face of that in the US (it’s always been bigger in Asian countries, and some European countries have had big events spanning more than just the usual games)
At some point along the Western FGC’s move towards being part of the E-Sports classification, some kind of stupid joke started to pop up because some pro players are obnoxious about the whole thing. So now every now again you’ll find someone randomly posted “lawl E-Sports” and other such nonsense because they think the idea of Electronic Sports is silly or they are just being an obnoxious troll.
It’s condescending, and as someone who’s spent time working on business plans that relate to E-Sports in the US, I find it annoying that people – especially folks who are part of the FGC or other gaming communities, start trying to make a joke out of the concept. Not particularly fond of people shooting themselves in the foot for the sake of a joke.
Current games aren’t easy enough to watch and understand to end up with televised tournaments – its still a very niched form of entertainment.
Actually it’s the opposite for Painwheel lol, she can get 10k out of it.
