Skullgirls GD, Keepin' It Classy In Medici -- Now out in EU/AU!

I want so many things…i can’t think of anything specific D:

Just wait till she’s hip bumping everyone. You know Firebrand will main her, and only use the hip bump move.

Yeah, but hasn’t the 360 slow issues been mentioned before? I know it has longer loading times and mike or someone said it was getting fixed.

Yeah, I think that Pillar is more annoying, but everyone is praising it because they are claiming Parasoul is the best character in the game. I’m not saying it is broken at all, just seeing how people are very bias on what they bitch about.

PM me Peacock’s and Valentines. I need me some GARBAGE DAY!

I’ve been playing games my whole life too, but even I love in depth tutorials. They are almost always a help, and like you said, they may teach you something new.

Some things I would add, and I think is important, that they mention timing between moves. How soon after you do a press a button should you press the next one. Is it right way, or a break between? No game seems to cover this, even if it’s extremely important, like in the SF games with linking and such. That, and I think when they want you to do a combo, they give you a short video of the CPU doing it first. Sometimes seeing it done helps more then just reading how to do it. Perhaps make it interactive, that the video only continues playing if you press the right buttons, so you have a feeling of how your hand should move.

Oh I LOVE that music. It’s awesome, and a great piece to go with the final boss.

^ This. A good button config is 3 basic points:

  1. Ability to set it from character select.
  2. Both characters able to set at the same time(wtf SFxTK?).
  3. Buttons are set by pressing the button, not by scrolling through a list of commands, preferably the config jumps to the next button in line after pressing one. TAP TAP TAP, TAP TAP TAP, buttons set in under 3 seconds. It is 2012, this type of button setting has been around for awhile, there is absolutely no excuse for a current fighting game to be released without this type of button config, and all future releases that don’t should be met with your full unadulterated outrage, especially those that are being billed as ‘tournament’ games.

Phoenix Wright’s invincibility was left out of the Japanese strat guide because they (Capcom) already planned to remove.

Yeah, this is not something that she came up with, though I don’t think it even registered as an option. All games that have challenge/tutorial mode should have a BB-style demonstration available.

I can not for the life of me figure out how to air to ground combo midscreen with Peacock.

AH, so they caught that after the game went gold. Ok. Still, I think they could have at least given him super armor during it if in Turnabout mode…

Yeah, so far BB is the only game I can think of that shows the computer doing the combo…

People just don’t know how to bait assists and work they’re way in. Thats basic MvC2 know-how. They expect to just IAD in for free. You’d be amazed how just dashing in and crouch blocking works wonders. The cooldown is the same time as MvC2 really, so this isn’t anything new to deal with for certain players.

So far I haven’t been too bothered by getting hit by the assist, so much as the pushback. I’ve been doing similar stuff to what you said, either IAD > land > block or sj > air block but it’s brutal sometimes against something like a Cockasoul team where I jump in, land right in front of Peacock, block Pillar > bomb > plane > drop > shots and bam, I’m right back where I initially jumped from.

If the assist actually hits me that’s my bad.

Yeah, I did notice that you can punish the Parasoul one very easily if you block it. If I get caught in the move once or twice, I start to avoid jump in attacks unless I have something to help protect me, like if I have an item dropping, or I fake them out by back dashing at the last second. Back dash, land, and quick GARBAGE DAY into super stops them cold if you get the attacks out fast.

Mike, you might wanna get in contact with Fanatiq. He’s really disappointed that he can’t have a third custom macro and is not willing to play until that’s patched in or something.

Did I just heard Cerebella say Squiggley!?
Hmm…I guess the call outs to the Squig’s and Umbrella are already ready to go.

But what I’m most curious about is whether or not Squiggly will talk or not, she does have those boney stitches on her mouth (When Leviathan isn’t attached to her). I guess she either mumbles stuff or she just let’s Leviathan do all the talking.

But yeah, I’d be interesting in all the VFX’s if you can get’em all into a Zip file or something.s

Well, I think when they had the voice actors they planned for Squigly and Umbrella to be in the game already, so this isn’t too surprising.

EDIT: I think she will talk, rather I would like her to talk. Her just mumbling everything doesn’t sound fun. Plus, I think her and Leviathan will have a good relationship together, and would love to hear them interact with each other.

Though… Her carrying a board to write down everything she says sounds cute as hell as well. Or Leviathan translating her mumbles would be amusing.

Um.
I just lost 100 places in the leaderboards after winning 3 matches in a row.
wat

Is the rating not shown?

Yeah… the leader boards is odd… perhaps you didn’t play enough matches.

I still can’t find how the leader boards work exactly. Mike said it doesn’t use Win/loss ratio, or battle points, or at least we don’t see those… so how does it work?

Namco fighters
Virtua Fighter
KoF XIII

Out of those, I only played Soul Caliber and just started Tekken. I can’t beleive I forgot those. I always loved to watch the SC moves, and cry when I couldn’t do Summon Suffering…

That seems like a stupid reason to not play this game…

I don’t even know how the custom macros work, much less rely on them to the point where I’d need a third one, lol.

It uses True Skill rating, which is based on ELO. This means you gain points based on who you played against. With 1000 Rating, winning against someone with 100 rating will be +1. Winning against someone with 3000 rating will be +1000 (Not exactly, but you get the picture). The ranks are still fairly close to each other (ELO needs a while to differentiate player skills) and ELO rating heavily fluctuates for the first matches, so things like Boodendorfs complaint happen often -
Easy example: You have 1000 Rating, get matched against people with 100 rating three times in a row, win all, are at 1003 rating.
Meanwhile someone that had 900 Rating (was behind you) played one game against a 1500 and won;
He got +200 and rose to 1100 (passing you) while the 1500 lost 200 and fell to 1300 (not falling behind you);
so even though you won 3 matches in a row you lost one rank.

Wait for the points to spread out a bit and live with the fact that points still don’t really mean anything when compared to different regions (someone with higher ranked opposition has a way easier time to garner points than you do).

Quite apparently the TSR isn’t actually shown; what made you decide to do that Mike? Seems to be the cause of all the confusion.
