Each time Ravi talks about DLC my hype levels go through the roof. In the meantime I’m theorizing some new IPS combos, I suggest you guys to do the same. I’m kinda scared that the scale might tip a little in favor of some ratio choices. I hope options will still beat raw damage in the end.

The grand finals for WNF wasn’t even worth watching. I felt disgusted that Thoth was in it and not Mike. I’m not riding on Mike’s nuts but he’s more interesting to watch than Thoth. And probably would have put up a better fight against Mega Man DS.

It just feels like the play today was sloppy, when this game gets more optimized this game is gonna be way better to watch.

Everyone has some fairly ambiguous setups. Everyone has good resets. I mean, even Peacock can make you guess four ways with the right setup. If anything, I find Filia’s resets easier to react to and block simply because I know that they are coming (or maybe because I am used to blocking Magneto after ten years of playing MVC2).

In the case of most characters, they have a choice of doing a long combo for big guaranteed damage or risking a reset for bigger, non-guaranteed damage. In Filia’s case, she doesn’t have the first option unless she is willing to burn three or four meters. The Filia player has no choice but to go for the reset every time, so I am always ready and it’s just a matter of guessing right. Against a Parasoul or Fortune player I often find myself getting trained to expect that they will do the full looping combo, only to suddenly find myself getting reset before I can react.

I play MVC2 on PSN and it uses GGPO-like netcode. With rollbacks, the game is playable even against opponents with over 200 ping.

I agree the change will benefit solos, but honestly they needed the help. As the game was shaping up there wasn’t much reason to go solo. I can’t even figure out why people solo with Fortune right now, since even with two characters she can TOD a solo.

My BnB is almost completely unaffected by the IPS changes, but Mike might have killed it with his nerf to j.HP.

I agree with this, but I think it’s simply better to get rid of the hitbox on loading the vial. It’s cute, but it’s the kind of thing that will either be abused on degenerate reloading setups or ignored completely. There is no middle-ground with it.

I think Mike mentioned you could only combo with the head and rekkas if it was the light punch version.
