I don’t think the team synergy is that great. Val is HP, Filia is hairball HK.
I agree with you there, Valentine only seams good on point to me. Which is why it seemed so odd.
I think Valentine will see play as an assist character if she uses her poison load as an assist, DHC into her, use poison needle…
But this may only work in a team of 3 in order to have one proper assist to help both the point character and Val, should the point character die.

Its used for cross ups and mixups. Painwheels cr.mp is better though.
I really like the look of c.MK on Val’s assist , good range, low, short lockdown, but it seems like plain MK is getting more play. The only advantage I can see for it is keeping people in blockstun while they’re airborne a bit better, and possibly abusing preblock if they crouch low enough for it to whiff and let you throw.
Its really good for people trying to jump since the prejump is vulnerable or w/e
MegamanDS uses s.mk on Val. It gives you lockdown/pressure for mixups, and is pretty damn good at stuffing assists too. Should be a decent alpha counter as well I imagine. I feel most of Val’s normals are strong enough to be used as assists though. I remember thinking that people would use launchers as assists at some point, but extending combos didn’t seem to be an issue without the use of an assist lol. Eh, could help with resets still!
