Think, guys. It’s confirmed that Squigly and Umbrella are the first two characters. Mike has said that he had to add a new thing to the game that would only work for Squigly.

The patch and the dlc characters have been so long in developement, they have taken on a life of its own.

Instead of a patch we will get a fullblown sequel, Skullgirls 2: Skull harder in 3D, with an 8wayrun system, countermoves, aswell as gems and other revolutionary comeback mechanics.
With a tie-in with capcom, make ready for several guest characters, such as Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Gouken, Ryu’s long lost twin Taiga, evil ryu, oni and EVIL oni. In a way to streamline the experience SG2 will use a 2 button fight system (dive and kick), and feature various touchscreen minigames, such as pick up 1 skull to recharge your health.
That’s right, SG2 will be released exclusively on Tablet devices.
Arcade mode, online multiplayer, color palettes, most of the stages and even the ingame BGM (Official soundtrack by famous rapper Ice Cube, who will be also a guest character in the game) will be released as DLC priced at a min of 50 dollars.

I’m not complaining or saying i want the characters right now this moment, i’m just saying they should reveal more info on them and what they are working on.

Evo seems like a logical time and place for a reveal. I believe Parasoul was shown last year, plus there have been a few months to work on the first dlc character. Even in an unfinished state, it’d be a great opportunity to grab the attention of the game’s main audience.

This game just needs time to grow. By this time next year it’ll have a larger roster and will likely be a main game(assuming the side tourney goes well), so I can see the player base expanding. Be patient and keep playing.

It’s not my or their problem that you have ADD.

You know they’ve been busting their ass on the patch.

You know they’re working on the PC port.

You know they’re working on Squiggly and Umbrella.

You (should) also know that this is an indie group and they’re bending over backwards to do this.

Now go dig up the bone in the backyard or play with a chew toy or something.

Most of you ADD kiddies won’t even play the new characters for more than a week.

What exactly should they reveal at this point? The programming Code?

i don’t mean to disrespect you, I think you are a cool dude and all, but no one really deserves that.

Mike said they started working on the first DLC character when they sent the game in for cert, which was in March. He has also said it takes at least 3 months to make a character. It’s perfectly within that timeframe to have the character mostly done (or a trailer or something) by EVO. I’m not saying that’s what’s going to happen, but given things Mike has said in the past it’s perfectly plausible. This is, of course assuming absolutely nothing has changed since those things were said and there weren’t any delays of any sort.

Well I threw him a bone but he’s acting like Reverge aren’t doing anything on purpose or delaying information for some reason.

Ok we know all of this and we know they are working on squig and umbrella, so why not showcase what they are doing drawings animations possible movelist?

youre saying they are working their ass off blah blah then why not show the fans of the game what they are doing while they are “busting their ass”

it makes sense to do a reveal at a large venue like EVO and THEN trickle out info.

That way you get the attention of all the people who aren’t us and don’t know all the little details, so the game gets more exposure. Then they can indulge us with the tinier details.

Marketing strategy man, they in there.

whether reverge reveal a character sometime soon or not, there are gonna be people who totally hate on the descision no matter what they do.

reveal tommorrow : “jeez the game has been out only 2 months and now they are announcing all these extra characters. they should have just put them in the full release on launch day only 8 characters fucking sucks” etc etc etc

reveal after games launch : (all of the above) + why show us a character that is gonna change before they are released. they may as well wait till theyve got the design/moves down pat before showing us.

reveal further down the line : this game is dead anyway now its too little too late blah blah blah they should have released them sooner etc etc.

look at the whole thing with UMvC3 with the leaked characters and with SFxT etc. we are kinda lucky to actually KNOW who the first two characters are in the first place.

personally i would be totally hype as shit though if there was a new character to play at evo. that would be the icing on the cake.

This is more or less what I’ve been hoping we’ll see. If the majority of your base consists of hardcore fighting game players then there’s no better place to reveal a character than Evo. I just don’t know when at an event like Evo would Reverge find the time to really throw out a reveal like that though. Last year Skullgirls had a panel at Evo … this year the closest we’ve got is the IndieGameDevs panel for which we don’t even have confirmation if Skullgirls is a part of.

But I’ll guess we’ll see if this all pans out in a week or so, wouldn’t want to “play the victim card” after all.
