Skullgirls Bugs & Glitches Thread - Check First Post

I don’t know if it is on purpose or not but the unlock full game tab is still there on the menu but not highlighted. Kinda redundant to have it there when you already purchased the game right? Really a non game breaking thing I know but I just wanted to point it out

I have replicated this twice but not sure if it is my xbox or the actual game. While in training mode after a decent amount of time (about an hour) I exited training mode (by pausing and selecting exit game) to go back to the main menu during the loading screen with the little walking bomb and during that the game completely exited and returned to my xbox home screen. This was odd but I was able to duplicate it again.

EDIT: I just did it again for the third time. And this was just going in and exiting.

DOUBLE EDIT: It was working fine on Wednesday. Today (thurs is the first I see this). Yup everytime I exit the game completely exits out. Wonder if this is a corrupt download?

i had a hardware crash occur on multiple occasions, old xbox360

Exit game, exits the entire game. Hit the option just above it and select main menu.

Console : PS3, the old fat 60gb one that can play ps2 games
Game mode glitch occurred in : training mode
Type of glitch : Graphics
Team and assists you used (if you remember) : Cerebella (copter)/Parasoul (corridor)
Team and assists opponent used (if you remember) : peacock/double
Stage being played : maplecrest
Type of glitch : gfx
Other :
this went away after repicking the same chars/stage, so we can’t replicate it.
my friend was on training mode for about 30 minutes and then Cerebella (color 8) started doing this for 1 frame of her idle animation:

it was the same frame every time. it didnt seem to happen the first time she would play the animation though, so if she whiffed a s.lp and then did nothing, it wouldnt look fucked up for the first idle anim and then it would after that. same fuck up too. appeared the same anywhere on the stage.

Requirement for XBL, remained in the 360 version.

Exit Game exits the game entirely. XBL said it was a requirement.

yo i love this game and the only complaint i got is that cerabella’s grab super does way to much damage. it does more damage than all level 3 supers. what up with that. its kind of retarded in one on one battles it does like almost half life.

Console : Xbox 360

Type of glitch : Hardware
Other : Data Corruption. Was forced to to delete my SG save data. Used the power switch to turn off console while in Training mode was my last time using it yesterday.

So. Xbox 360 folk who care about their color and stage unlocks…exit to the main menu and then exit game.

Oops didn’t know that the exit literally ment exit the entire game. Never seen a game do that while in game as opposed to the main menu. Thanks for the info guys.

For myself, I’ve seen a couple of console deadlocks during loading (Fat PS3 80Gb). So far, it seems to happen after a loading completes, such that the screen remains black and nothing happens. Controller doesn’t react to anything and you can’t call up homescreen with PS button. I had to turn off the console by holding down the front panel power button to shut it down (incidentally, it gave a BEEP after the shutdown process before turning off, I don’t know if that signals something?).

Example: I had it occur in Cerebella Story mode, it was loading one of the fights. The loading screen showed for around the time I would expect, then screen turned black when it should transition to the fight, but the screen just stayed black. My theory would be some kind of threading problem with the loading thread completion not signalling right that its done.

Also, thought I’d quote this here, since I think its an artistic bug:

That’s a PS3 thing. You must like almost never use that method of shutdown.
You’ll either hear one beep or a couple in a row because you reset your HDMI/AV Settings.

Is it possible to rename that to “Exit to Dashboard” or state something on the confirmation dialog that This Will Exit Skullgirls Entirely?

Or better yet, kill it with fire.

Microsoft requires that in their games, so that’s out. Renaming it would be absolutely lovely.

Most likely not a bug, but in training mode with default options, you do a combo and it shows red life on your opponent’s health bar and whatnot. Then it refills, all fine and dandy. If I do Valentine’s Vial-A poison, it only shows the hit and not the damage over time. Is there a reason why infinite health exists if by default this is how training mode works anyway?

Just tried Arcade mode on sleepwalk, I have to agree with whomever said the Fortune AI was OP’d. /still in first round w/ solo Filia
Also, I seem to have a hard time executing Hairball/Gregor Samson, but that’s probably just my slow inputs xD;

EDIT: forgot to mention, double tapping for air dash doesn’t work for me

360, Arcade model, 120 GB

EDIT 2: Okay that Fortune on SLEEPWALK solos me without any difficulty. /ko’d by solo Fortune 4th time in a row. It’s the first round, with Para/Val/Fortune. I got minor sound lag in the second match too.

Not sure if this is a glitch, but in order to super cancel from Valentine’s dash move on hit is to reverse the input, even if you do it late.

Say you’re on the left side and hit the dash. You’ll cross up. Expecting this, when you’re in the other side, you do qcf+PP (using the new forward direction since you crossed up). End result is a qcb+PP. Also needs to reverse the inputs for her dash blockbuster.

I’d say it’s autocorrecting but I’m 100% sure I’m inputting the move after her blue hitbox is on the other side of the opponent’s blue hitbox, since that’s the space they occupy.

Other : Twice now I have had the game freeze when choosing to “play again” in an online unranked battle. It tries to start up the next match and just stops for both players. No one can do anything except access the ps menu and quit.

during an online match . I saw an random glitch with valentine mortuary drop assist . I really don’t know if it’s voluntary , but you are able to cancel her grab animation with an hit and she will re-grab the opponent again .

The easiest way i find is to use sniper shot of parasoul after you use his assist grab.

If you hit while the grab is in air , extra dmg will be 0 .
If you hit on the ground before she launch the body bag in air , you can add extra dmg

  • I think * you can’t cancel her grab animation twice .
I don’t know the reason but i try several time an bnb while doing this and the assist cancel by himself ( I mean she never re grab the opponent again ) …

I don’t know if it’s an big deal but it’s an glitch

  • If this was already discovered , just ignore this comment

IIRC, Mike Z had stated somewhere that you don’t have to compensate your inputs if a move crosses up the opponent. I think it works something like this: while you’re doing a move, your inputs are considered facing the same way you were when you started the move until your character recovers. Otherwise, cancelling into super from Filia’s hairball would be way more iffy since it crosses up or not when juggling with it depending on how you spaced it.

Console: PS3
Model: Fat
HDD:40GB
Occurrence: Versus-Quick Match/ Loading Screen
Glitch: Matchmaking Protocol?/Stage loading

I was grinding out some quick matches, queued one up, found one. Went to adjust GGPO accordingly and it automatically started the game somehow. Chose my characters, hit the loading screen and the entire console froze up. I haven’t had any problems at all with SG yet, this would be the first. Was playing for about 2 1/2 hours before this occurred. Not sure if the two problems are related, but figure it’s important to describe everything that happened leading up to it.
