Good thing Bella’s my second favorite and she didn’t do anything bad to Parasoul. I don’t have to hate her… though I’m not liking the sound of this asshole in her ending.
Bella’s ending looks like it’s worth a runthrough. Geez I hate grapplers though.
Much gratitude for all these!
May I request Parasoul and Double’s? I’ll give you art in return, just PM me what you like (I would actually like to request all but eh… too much work for ya)
Much appreciated for the Minette images!
I thought I’d noticed Minette changed her looks between the start and the end of the game but I was hoping I was wrong (check the shoulders). Still, this’ll give me some more stuff to work with for Ask Minette
Also notice that she actually has a noes, lol, not many people knew that till now.
Gonna try to finish up on Filia then I’ll move on to Parasoul and Double.
Note people, I cannot do the scrolling art pieces like the one Double image that has her…having fun with the rest of the cast, heh heh!
I can try to put two pieces together. I know their are folks that can do so perfectly.
That was the first thing I noticed! I had actually planned to do a post on Ask Minette about her not having a nose until I started the story!
Damn Cerebella is strong. Did she grind Ms. Fortune’s body into blood in order to piece the life gem back together? Well her ending probably won’t end up being the cannon one. I think Ravid was trolling us when he told us that Filia was going to die of Mercury poisoning right before she beat Marie.
After running through the game with each individual character on the roster, I have to say that Mike and his team did an excellent job on the story. It was neither paper thin nor was it heavy handed, but done so in a way that forces the player to create his own interpretations of whats going on or what has happened. An many if not all of them struck a chord inside me that I wish to address.
Painwheel’s story grabbed because it was about a girl forced into something she wanted nothing to do with, and her quest for vengeance on those responsible for turning her into the monster she is now. I had thought at first she was gonna wish that she be turned back to normal, but I was shocked that she turned around and destroyed the Skull Heart, stating that she didn’t want to be controlled by anyone ever again. Not by Valentine, Brain Drain or anyone. But it really struck me in the gut that when she tried to return home to her normal life with her parents and the way they reacted to how she looked, man, I couldn’t help but feel for her. An decided that I’d make her my main, though I had already made that decision from when I saw the walkthrough of her put up by Mike.
Fillia’s story to me left a lot of plot holes, though not on the same scale as Mass Effect 3 and their space magic. It never really went into detail on how she obtained Samson, who her parents are (though it is found later on that she is related to the Medicci family by Marie), and why did she lose her memories? The most we were able to grab was that she and Carol (Painwheel) were friends, though in her case she couldn’t remember for the life of her. After obtaining the skull heart instead of wishing for them back, she instead wishes for Carol to be turned back to normal, whether it was out of guilt or some sort. I don’t know but the price for making such a wish was for her to be turned into the next Skullgirl slowly but gradually, indicating that she did not have a pure heart in my opinion.
Peacock’s was straight up bad ass, pure bad ass. At the beginning I had thought that she was just straight up a cold killing monstrosity, well, technically she is but she has a lot of depth to her character. Especially when she finds out that the doctor who helped in her creation was killed by Vallentine, and she made it her mission to get revenge and kill the skullgirl Marie in the process. I had honestly thought she was gonna make a wish to bring him back, but look at my surprise when she made up her mind to destroy it. Possibly knowing that even if she made a good wish, its definitely not for free as her friend Marie is a perfect example to that. I really enjoyed it.
Miss Fortune was the same as Peacock’s though it also left a few question percolating in my mind unanswered, but I’ll simply have to wait and see what Mike and his buddies end up doing with the story. I enjoyed her character and that she wanted the skullheart to bring her friends who were killed by the Mob back to life. Though in the end after confronting Marie and winning, it made her realize that she already have a new family. One that she is willing to do whatever it took to protect them, and noted that even if she did wish her friends back there would’ve been terrible consequences as she would’ve ended up like Marie. Who herself is very similar to Fortune.
Parasoul’s brought a tear to my eye and pissed me off immensely. Though my anger was mostly directed at her idiotic little sister who felt compelled to claim the skull heart as it somehow reminds her of her moth, forcing Parasoul to take it and wish that she would become the next skullgirl and that her sister would. never be one herself. Story was great and too the point, and made my respect for the Princess grow even though she ends up turning into the very thing she hates in the future. And made it a point to train her sister so that when the time comes she would be able to handle her.
Cerebella’s story made me wanna put my fist through the tv screen to be honest, especially because of that asshole Vitale and his blatant way of treating her as a tool rather than someone to care about. If it was reverge lab’s job to make me hate the guy, then they did a wonderful job at it as I wanted to reach through the damn screen and wring his blood neck. Her story through my eyes basically showed me a young woman who was willing to do anything to gain his affections, even if its something she really doesn’t want to do. And I am assuming that its the first time she’s ever killed anyone as she showed immense regret for what she did, and basically realizes that Vitale will never view her as nothing more than a tool to exploit and not as a person who loves him. I was also very mad at the way she gave Fortune the Coal treatment in order to get the Life Gem, though it was interesting to note that the skullheart said that Cerebella’s heart was pure. Though she had no desire to make a wish, and at least that was the saving grace of it all. Interesting story, but it still pissed me off.
Valentine’s was definitely the most surprising because as you venture through the game with each character you just see the antagonist side of her. But seeing things in her own eyes, from how Marie killed off her family, to shouldering Painwheel’s hatred for what she did to her and to her self sacrifice in the end really blew me away. She was the last person I had expected to have a great stoy and plot going for her, so Mike has my pat on the back for that.
Double… wow, I don’t even know what to exactly say for that blob/nun in disguise. Other than I did not see that coming at the end, though I was very annoyed to have to use Double to be Marie, and I believe it is my opinion that she has to be one of the most cheapest bosses in a fighting I have ever fought. Oh my God, I thought Seth was bad, but that girl takes the whole damn cake. The only way I could’ve beaten her legitimately was to cheese her to death with multi-hitting moves like Painwheel’s jump Hp, and Fillia’s jump Mp. If you can beat her in any other way consistently then my hat is off to you as I simply wanted to check out the story and give my thoughts about it and the characters over all. I gotta say that I really enjoy this game, though I will have to admit that this is the first time I have ever had to use six buttons in a fighting game and for me its on a PS3 controller. But nevertheless, Mike and his team gave me a wonderful experience with the story mode and makes me wonder just what else does he have up his sleeve to add on to the game.
Sorry if my post was a bit long, but I couldn’t help but want to share my input it on all that I had experienced. Thanks for reading, and for those who posted on the thread. Really shows a lot, especially since we can all come together and share our thoughts on feeling on the matter that is… SKULLGIRLS!!!

Okay the giant poster like image that shows all the girls being…digested in Double’s ickyness will require some time for me to properly merge to together, so this image will do for now.

Oh Yes, loving the Hourglass body on Aeon, expect some Time stopping moves from her if she does end up playable.
OMG! If that happens, maybe we will be able to reproduce that infamous JJBA combo video!

Is Ms. fortunes story sequences drawn by a different artist than alex ahad? Because the pervert who groped filia looks quite different in fortunes story
There were several story artists - I’m not even sure if Ahad did any of the story sequences at all. There were at least two that did the different segments of Ms.Fortune’s - the intro and outro of her story are totally different styles.
Painwheel’s story also had some fairly radically different art than the rest of the game, though it’s so different that it could be one artist deliberately changing for those segments.
I played Peacock’s story first and that was just straight up awesome. It only lasted a little while but the depth of it resonated really well and left me satisfied and anticipating the continuation of the canonical story.
And then there’s Valentines story which just blew me away. At first I just saw Valentine as a opportunistic, megalomaniacal woman in pursuit of the Skullheart’s power for herself, but then, come to find out, she’s been the inside man the whole time and she’s willing to sacrifice herself in order to save the world from these mysterious “masters”.
Even though they may not be the canonical paths, I do hope that the character depth and development translates over to the true story.
LOL at that first shot of the Divine Trinity Scene, so many easter eggs. And a Valentine Boob Pad~! XD
Did everyone’s except for Pain, Val, and Dub.
Ms. Fortune is pretty funny too. Her and Peacock would bring a whole lot of lol moments in a cartoon. Really Reverge I WANT THAT CARTOON!
LOL at
fortune

Thinking Valentine was a lesbian
The better way to see the scene with the Divine Trinity is as an ending distinct from Double’s. My guess is these three are the real “big bads” from the Skullgirls universe.
You are right. Real good story here.
Cerebella’s ending has surprised me the most. She may be pure love, but love =/= good. Brutal in every way. I hate those medici bastards, and although I feel sorry for her, her act was horrible, specially considering that Nadia told her what the Medicis have done. Although now I like her less that was a very emotional ending and a good job from the labs.
Peacock’s also has surprised me. She is quite heroic, contrasting with our expectations. She is like a brutal Batman in her ending. Also the most heartwarming ending.
Fillia’s story doesn’t answer questions (leave to a DLC char story), and she accepts that to help a person in need. Bittersweet.
Painwheel’s is sad, just sad. Brain Drain must be a boss in the future.
Parasoul is also sad. Talk about bad luck having the heroine’s sister life depend on the Skullheart. Sad also.
Ms. Fortune was quite heroic. I think the writers have thought that what happened in Bella’s ending was enough horror for the cat. Still it is funny how in one path she desires her family and in another she desires revenge.
Valentine is quite the anti-hero, isn’t she? She is the Jack Bauer of the Canopy Kingdom.
Double eats everyone in a Lovercraftian scene. The Skullheart is NOT the big bad.
Marie is cool. I hope for a future playable version of her.
Chilling in the Venus Dimension, sitting on a pile of hentai, playing Skullgirls on a Dreamcast. Double has the best ending.
Oh man, I can’t wait for some high quality pics of that first Trinity screenshot, especially since it provides our first look at Beowulf.
Yeah I get that too, that the Divine Trinity are the true villains behind the scenes. Double most likely serves them. As we saw in her story, Double was the one who gave the Skull Heart to Marie in the first place, also that she’s actively searching for new host for the Skull Heart. Marie may be just a pawn in a bigger game.
I’m gonna try to search around for uploads on Youtube that are high quality.I’m hoping that Alex uploads some pics he done on his Deviant Art or he comes out with a artbook in the future.
Gonna try to do Filia stuff.
Needs more Molly
And the robot thing from Peacock’s ending
