Skateboarding: Kick Push and Fall

niggas talking about rollerblading and shit…

truth be told I used to enjoy watching the aggressive inline during the ex games, but rollerblading never really appealed to me. You cant really roll up on ya niggas with wheels on ya feet and expect to be taken seriously, skateboarding is already pushin it lol

and concerning the skate videos, its pretty surprising I’m finding the Whole versions of these in the “right” places online.

I fucked up my back again so no skating for about a week. Just my luck.

My board did a wheel bite so I took a nasty spill last night, blood all over my khaki shorts. I will never skate in khaki’s again.

I think about 6 or 7 months ago I predicted Justin Brock to be the “it guy” of '09. He’s not Mike Mo or anything like that but Brock got the latest Thrasher Cover, the Berrics coverage, and people are hyped on his part in the new Nike vid comming out in the next week or two. THEN there is the Real vid comming out later this year, and you know he is going to kill it on that shit. Don’t doubt my word lol next time lol.

Rowely and Daewong are out of the BATB 2. That really does suck. On the upside, Jerry Hsu is going to be in it so it should be awesome.

Daewon would have been way too much imo, Haslam being in it as well as Chris Cole is already pushing it.

I think Jimmy Carlin is going to do well, and Jerry is one of my favorite skaters as far as style and personality combined with tech skill. His photography is also very good, and btw, Emerica Hsu’s are fantastic.

Koston is on the swoosh

Wow that’s pretty big news. He just joined Lakai like 2 and a half years ago. That was fast

Only thing left for him to do now is join Plan B(Thankfully him and Mike Caroll are boys)

I called it. I knew he was gonna be on sb.

They joined and quit plan B already. Well, Carroll and Howard did. Close enough.

While we are talking about Nike SB can someone explain to me the whole “don’t do it” movements some skaters are apart of.

edit: I found their website, it sounds pretty lame

I know Daewon would be one of the favorites to win the whole thing. It would of been sick to watch him skate flat. There’s too many monsters in that BATB, everyone has a good shot at winning.

I’ve heard the Emerica Hsu’s are good. The ones that were alright were the Reynolds 2’s and slims.

Some San Fran kids made a skate vid in 09…using a **VHS camera **.

Shits ill, old school editing style with new school skate styles.

I keep landing all my pop shoves with my front foot on the nose, any tips?

I don’t know, man. I feel like shopping at big box sports retailers like Foot Locker (ccs) and Dicks or whatever is a copout. It IS bad for skateboarding. About Nike SB, I think it’s kind of a mixed bag of feelings for me. Sure, you have the fact that they only sell SBs in skate shops, but those shops have to buy a whole run of crap they don’t want just to carry it, and 90 percent of the people buying them are fat ass shoeheads who are going to sell them on ebay anyway. So they really don’t even bring a worthwhile amount of money to skateshops. They are good shoes for skateboarding though. I think you could make a valid argument either way.

Supras have become a sneaker head brand as well.

I saw some thugged out lesbian wearing gold skytops on commercial drive the other day.

I think because Nike are the “big guys” people have an overall pessimistic view. But look at what SBs do:

-Although the division is not top to bottom skater ran like Lakai or some shit, they do put money in the pockets of up and comming skaters who deserve it (Grant Taylor, Theotis Beasly, Justin Brock, Matt Beach)

-They put money in the pockets of older skaters, that other shoe companies dont want because they aren’t as marketable anymore (Gino Iannuci, BA, Chet Cildress).

-They are only sold in skateshops, and who cares who buys the shoes, the money will go towards the skateshops and they will always cater to the core skater more than anything.

-Their full length all HD am movie debacle is pretty much going to be free.

-The pressure of having nike around forces everyone to step their game up, look at what nintendo did when microsoft was raping their north american sales.

-They have tons of models and blah blah blah

Not saying SB is perfect, some of their shoe and apparel price points are laughable (especially compared to vans). People have a right to boycott whatever they want, but I think the reasoning is silly. Skating is not underground anymore more boys these days know how to ollie than hit a curveball, its been that way since Tony Hawk did the 900 on ESPN. Im ranting now lol.

lol that guy talks just like my cousin up in Jersey :rofl::rofl:

Selling SB actually cost the skate shop I worked at way more money than it actually brought in, that was the point I was trying to make. You couldn’t just buy the dunks and the pro models, you had to order the weird colorways and the other designs, too. You had to buy the whole line or they wouldn’t sell to you at all. So that’s why shops that carry SB always have about 20 pairs of weird nike shoes on sale for like 60 percent off.

I agree 100 percent about paying skaters what they are worth, that’s one reason I don’t campaign against them. My main reason for that reply was the talk about buying/selling skate stuff in big box retailers.

adidas’s skateboarding line is much better than nikes, if you want to strictly talk about the length of time the shoes last. But im pretty sure adidas does the same thing to shops that “final_cut” was saying. you gotta get the shit shoes to stock the good ones.

on a similar note, how about chaz ortiz and malto on gatorade? shits pretty weak in my opinion.
