Nah. They are still private businesses. It would be pretty unprecedented for the government to step in and say, “You have to do this!” Shit, they wouldn’t even do it with television and made super narrow scopes to when another person can get airtime to speak their mind if they must.
So stop posting, unlike school which you should have obviously continued going to.
You’re gonna get high powered laughed at thunking any private entity has to put up with your shit.
Matter of fact, under various circumstances schools dont have to put up with your shit.
Think at this point only raz0r and I seem to actually know what the first amendment covers. What you want to happen would be a massive overreach of the federal government and would expand their powers into ridiculous territory.
You want any private organization to have to put up with any nonsense that enters it regardless of relevancy. Thats not at all what the 1st amendment is there for
Unprecedented for government to step into a private businesses affairs? You really are an unabashed idiot.
The government regulates private business same as anything else. Standard oil got slapped and had the entire company dismantled and packed into about half a dozen smaller oil companies, Microsoft got slapped and had the same thing done to them. Television and radio are regulated by the FCC and are made to comply to broadcasting standards. Utilities, many of which are privately owned still have to comply to federal and local laws.
Don’t change the subject of discussion when the avenue you chose to go down on turns out to be a dead end.
There are various reasons the government would get involved into private businesses, but for media there aren’t many when it comes to offering a platform for all. The FCC RELUCTANTLY had to create rules just because television was a powerful medium and even then the scope is so fucking small it only really affects a minuscule portion of actual events.
So fucking stop it you stupid twat. You’re embarrassing your parents.
Way to bring up shit that has nothing to do with the discussion YOU YOURSELF brought up.
Should also be added that public broadcasting was technically using public airwaves and there were only 3 choices on TV. Still an overreach but a different situation altogether.
After reading this I would say that none of us know what “freedom of speech” truly is as it has a shifting nature based on the political climate of the day, I suggest you read the section titled on free speech:
But fuck, I’m way off topic now and I’m going to stop. Arguing with mods is never something that any good comes from. Razors still an idiot though… and water is wet.
I have it as my own rule that I don’t argue with mods past a certain point. On this or any other forum I were to frequent. I’ll simply state my case and leave it at that. It’s nothing against any mod here or there, but bad blood from moderators does me no good even if it doesn’t get me banned. Arguing with others that aren’t mods though? Yeah, till I get bored or annoyed, whichever comes first.
We are speaking about a very specific scope about the First Amendment. If you cannot clearly understand which part of it is being discussed, you should not step into an adult conversation.
I’m trying really hard to figure out whether you’ve been on SRK for 12 years or if you’re actually 12 years old.
The thing about you lefties is that you simply state whatever it is you state and then drop the mic as if that’s the end of the discussion. You seem to think that simply because you stated it, its true. its quite boring and obvious to argue against even when it comes from someone intelligent, of which you certainly are not.
The only reason I haven’t ignored you is because I like to laugh at the hilarity of your stupid posts, you are a treasure trove cornucopia of stupidity that keeps on giving and like watching a train wreck, I can’t take my eyes off of it. The argument that YOU made was “private companies” i named “private companies”
…
I’d ask that you follow along but that would be like asking an Indian to interpret Chinese.
Also, I’m done replying to you on this particular topic.
