Silver Samurai Combos

You all know the basic aerial combo he has. Well, with the right assist (Thanos capture), you can create some pretty cool combos.

Sam/Thanos Combo #1- cr.lk (or cr.lp), cr.hp, lp, hp, Thanos, repeat combo…
Im not sure if thats an infinite, but Ive done like 2 sets. It seems if you dash a bit after the first bubble connects, you can manipulate the assist commands. IDK…

Sam/Thanos Combo #2- cr.lk (or cr.lp), cr.hk, shuriken downwards, Thanos, vary (Cho-Shuriken, THC, or aerial combo)

Sam/Thanos Combo #3- (Ice power up) lp, sword fury (swinging rapidly), Thanos, Ice super, repeat…I like to cross over while theyre frozen

Sam/Thanos Combo #4- (Lightning power up) Note: He’s quicker in this form- lp2, hp2, cr.hk, shuriken down, Thanos, Raimeiken (Lightning super) Cho Shuriken (Stars) or aerial combo. If you have his ground type assist, do a couple of slices after bubble, then THC.

Sam/Thanos Combo #5- (Fire power up) cr.lp, cr.hp, lp, hp, Thanos, land, immediately do his rising flames super. You only do like 2 hits aerial, but the whole combo is very deadly, doing like 100 damage on most characters. Simple, but highly effective.

I try to use his elements quite often, because they enhance different areas of his game, defense, offense, speed, etc. If you must play Sam, Id suggest either Doom (anti-air) and Sentinel (ground) as his team members. They have good protection for his lags, and Doom + Cho Shuriken does sick chip damage!! I usually throw a single shuriken first, then Cho for additional chip damage.

thanos bubble

Dunno why I’m expanding on what he put down… but I can at least clarify for others the nature of the 2 thanos bubble situation…

as always… you cannot call an assist twice in one combo… but in the case of thanos bubble its really slow… so you can call him… dash fwd… and if enough time has passed you can do a knockback while calling thanos… they wind up in the first bubble… you use it to link 2 moves that will normally not combo… then the second bubble connects and you keep it going…

It’s not very explored… and certainly not by me. Only thing I’ve used it for is to allow wolvie to setup speedup midcombo and then follow with a launch, knockdown, bubble relaunch situation… it’s pretty awesome… very stable… and does a ton of dmg.

I bet other characters can do some amazing stuff with it… specially toons that have a fancy pants 8 way air dash.

played what seemed like an 8 year old kid and all he did to me was trip trip/doom aa/ lightning super.

I felt like I was stuck there for ever and he killed my assist character doing that same shit.

I consider myself good… not great or perfect but better then most.

This kid did that same thing over and over and over and over and I couldnt do shit. I was either blocking or getting chipped by doom.

Kid was mad gay but gotta give it to him as I lost a quarter in less then a min 20.

People who do the same thing over and over are gay.

Ie… blackheart sj.hp/ iron man trip trip/ doom/ protonon cannon etc etc.

learn how to play, its liek they said. oh shizz, this combo works, nothing else matters.

SS doesn’t have a lot of tools, uses meter like crazy, and doesn’t build it to well… bait out that lighting while your ahead on meter… then rush his ass down. I really like SS but unlike a lot of slower toons… his normals don’t do the best job of making up what he doesn’t have in speed.

Standing Fierce has the potential to be godlike though. It actually addresses two of your concerns as well.

S.FP can be crouch-canceled to eat up the recovery frames, and this lets him build some meter. If Mag/Storm do their tri-jump HP dance you can match them and at least be productive while they try to get bar.

All around its a versatile normal-- if you catch an assist airborne you can juggle them fast and low with crouch-canceled FPs-- so you can pop an assist for 2-3 heavy hits xx Lightning safely even with the point still active because you have that option to xx Lightning.

You can link [sLP, sHP xx crouch] into itself for three reps plus a finisher for a meterless solo bread and butter. Perfect timing lets you link [sHP xx crouch] into itself, and this would be an infinite since its actually the LP that pushes you away rather than the crouch cancelled HP-- however the input window to get the HP links is so tight I only see it about one in 30-40 attempts.

It’s also unique in that there’s a second sword swipe you can utilize. I know there’s gonna be practical stuff from this second hit, but I haven’t fiddled with it yet.

That crouch cancel in the main reason SS is even playable against decent players. If not for that… building meter against 95% of the cast would never happen. I swear even Roll could run lock down on his stupidly long startup normals otherwise…

I’ve often thought about that 3 hit, 3 rep combo you posted… if there was a way to get into a com, activate fire touki(spelling?), and do that 9 hiter… that combo + 40% dmg would fully be godly… but i can never do it in a real match b/c activating fire tuki is like saying “im going on the offensive for the next 10 seconds, be prepared to punish me.”

Fire touki is NUTS! The block dmg from a shurken super while fire is active… is more dmg than some supers do when landed clean! I think I came up with a basic ass fire tuki air combo years back that did 60+ dmg on cable… obviously its a tradeoff… you go from above average stamina to akuma like stamina… but you hit like sent…

The touki’s are highly underrated. People saw how much dmg you could mash his lighting for… a long long time ago… and wondered why you’d ever spend a meter on a touki(spelling? lol)… well… they are the shit. 3 stacked SS ice touki = best defended thing in the game… 3 stacked SS fire touki = pound for pound hits as hard or harder than anything… lighting touki… well… just do ice or fire…lol

If only you could switch glitch his touki’s like juggs… i’d probably die instantly from joy…

Although this thread is long dead but, i have been playing silver sam for fun. Now days i only play fun teams that are not really top tier but can beat people like top tiers.

My team is------- Blackheart/silver Sam./cyclops

this team is awesome blackheart with cyclops build so much meter that its not funny, THEN SWITCH IN SILVER SAM AND THE WORD OF THE DAY IS LIGHTING!!!.

lol, Specialy sentinels have a really hard time dealing with silver sam. They actually think that they can fly above a fully loaded silver samn XD!!! anyway they only team that give these guys problems is Team scrub, but other than that u are goodd to go.

Dude thats my team! Give it back lol. That is a really good team. i play it against all but MSP players because they usually rape me. SS with Cyclops is almost as good as BH/Cyke. Easy set-ups to his lightning. Sentinel can’t fuck with me. And TK shurikens…gdlk dude…GDLK lol.

I posted this awhile back in a general discussion thread which has since fallen off the list… better off here anyways… since it’s sick ass shit for SS…

Also to mention that you can do better combo’s than these… actually good enough that it doesn’t use any meter really… :slight_smile:
