Silly Habits?

+1 blocker of Raging Demon.

As soon as I see it I just seem to hold down+back. I just can’t stop the habit!

I go for SPDs at the worst possible times, for no good reason.

I saw alot of people trying to finish a match wit ha super, they mess up and lose the match, a simple fireball or chip damage would have done the trick.

I’m a bad offender of “flashy finish” syndrome =(

Sometimes when I beat somebody down to their last ounce of health and have them in dizzy, I always try to finish with the almighty SUPER when a punch could’ve just as easily done them in. Either I land it, or I screw around too much, letting the enemy recover and possibly even beat me.

I wall dive against Guile, and I’m completely predictable.

Also, sometimes I think I’m playing different characters. After playing Dee Jay I’ll try to do charge fireballs with Akuma, and then other times I’ll try air fireballs with Dee Jay. Although, I’ve entirely switched to Claw so these don’t happen anymore.

Jumping in after a blocked Hawk Dive.

Jumping vertically over fireballs. It always ends up being a jab fireball. Why don’t I just block? I’ve seen too many japanese vids.

Trying to throw Ken when he lands from a HP shoryu. They throw me every time. They cross up at that shitty angle coming down and I never think of something to hit him mid-air. It makes me want to throw my controller blocking Ken’s HP shoryu and then getting thrown upon landing.

Hahah I’m guilty of this too. Also, knocking someone out of the air with hawk and tryin to walk up and then jump crossup even though the opp always recovers in time to DP me :frowning:

Using HK scissor kicks to poke and eating a throw or combo when I land right at the blocking opponent’s feet.
[]Standing still and doing nothing.
[
]Jumping vertically into fireballs. Often whilst doing the above.
[]Pressing the wrong button for anti-air and getting kicked in the face.
[
]Mashing the jab button for no reason.

  • Sometimes doing it so quickly and persistently that people accuse me of using a rapidfire controller. Scrubs need to learn about two-finger tapping.

Doing walk-up insta-legs with Chun for no reason. Often failing.
  • Which also gets me accused of using rapidfire. Scrubs need to learn about triple tapping.
[]Trying to win rounds using nothing but walkup throws. Especially with Zangief.
    [
]Picking Dhalsim. Something I should never ever do for the sake of not embarrassing myself.
…and plenty more.
Though generally I stop doing all of the above when I actually care about winning.

I’ve lost several matches where a shoto would do nothing but walk up and spam sweep over and over. After 4 sweeps you think I’d learn, but I keep trying to get that damn wake up tiger uppercut out and it just never comes. Blocking on wake up needs to be a priority for me.

Same thing, being too confident (or eager to learn?) in reversals. Some matches go easily up to 50% damage done by me missing the reversal and eating some jump-ins and/or sweeps. Although the opponent wouldnt even know how to tick throw. That loses me a lot of health.
Then again, I have to learn the timing.

Also suffer the syndrome of character confusion, I play all chars like they were Fei, poking a lot with C MP. Useless.
