My team as of late has been either dorm(darkhole)shuma(ray)and strange(bolts) Sometimes I do Shuma on point and put dorm on second. I really want to play team black magic so that has been what i’ve been doing for 6 months.
I also have a firebrand point team, with shuma second and skrull anchord. Too cheap. Hopefully I can post a video of how cheap soon enough. Thanks to angelic for the firebrand shuma tech.
That sounds similar to what I had in mind except using Shuma on anchor and Dormammu middle for DHC options and unblockables with Dark Hole (bit harder to do than with Skrull mind I really need to work on it).
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for a good Shuma on Point team? I am thinking there needs to be some sort of lock down because Shumas mobility can be difficult to have another character running away from them. I think Missiles can’t always be good because Doom can get clipped easily because Shuma has trouble moving around hypers. I can’t tell you how many times I have called missiles and have eaten some plasma or a beam hyper and then doom is bleeding. I think Strider would be good, and then I think of a Strider Doom team, Shuma(ray),Doom(beam),Strider(Vadra). Because then at that point that shell isn’t all that bad. But I think having a better dhc option after Shuma is key, maybe a beam hyper that you can confirm off of. I have been playing Shuma, Dorm, Strange, but I feel like darkhole doesn’t always do it for Shuma. Then I feel like having someone who can really benefit off of his eye raw tag, like Frank or Strange. I am not too sure who else could really use it. I just want to really try and open our eye with Shuma(Get it?) because after going to casuals lately and practicing nonstop and not dropping combos usually, I still find it so hard to figure out a neutral game with Shuma. It doesn’t matter how many damaging combos you can do that save you a ton of meter, if you have no idea how to land a hit. So I was also wondering if anyone had a certain gameplan with shuma? And based around other characters as well?
I play a Shuma/Doom/Strider team and it’s pretty good. But that’s mostly because I’m just terrible at super jump confirms, so I use Strider to keep them on the ground. If you’re not awful, like me, then I’d recommend Ammy instead. If your opponent is in the corner and you have Cold Star for lockdown, they’re pretty much screwed. Shuma is really really good in the corner.
So I have been playing with Firebrand(missile),Skrull(Tenderizer), and Shuma(Ray). I really love all of these characters and really want to make this team work. I can do a raw tag into shuma from 3/4 screen like Angelic has shown us in his vid, and there are even full screen conversions with the team. I have been approaching Super Skrull unblockables and it is going perfectly fine, but I have a major problem: The shuma hard tag only works on 2/3 the cast. This isn’t bad, but it doesn’t work on popular characters like Doom, Wesker, Sentinal, and even Ammy and Hawkeye to name a few others. That is a problem for me so I figure I would just have to counter pick to my Strange tales team to deal with a team heavily based with those characters. I play against my brother often, and he derps around with wesker drones and dark phoenix. This is very hard for my team because wesker doesn’t have any of my Shuma Raw Tag bs and then I can’t do the Tenderizer unblockable on incomming because his secondary and anchor have invincible hypers. All in all: I am still in the lab and I am trying to find ways around this. Worse comes to worse, I will just have to counterpick to a secondary team if my team cannot handle this. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas to get my creative juices flowing? Thanks in advance.
Hulk/Shuma is an excellent shell in my opinion and I have been running it for a while now. I took my team to Defend the North and players really enjoyed the team. I made this video over a year ago when I first picked it up, and am now in the process of making an updated video:
Got any tech for Shuma/Akuma? Anyone else have any thoughts on the pairing? I was going to run it as an alternate to Shuma/Ammy but I didn’t know how hard conversions would be off of a stray hit since Tatsu pushes the opponent back. I was going to run Wolvie/Shuma/Akuma.
Yeah I talked to Jan about Hulk/Shuma a long time ago before Jan officially switched to him and we both agreed that Hulk/Shuma is a great duo.
Really enjoying my weird ass team of Jill/Modok/Shuma, so much fun and so much damage. Full screen mystic ray assist for both Jill and Shuma is restarted.
hmm not that i’m aware of. Unfortunately Dante’s hitstun is really bad for raw tag combos so I don’t think it would really be optimal if he could off divekick/skydance.
