Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li - when I read the “Chun Li” part
I liked UMK3, however MK2 was the best of the series. By the third and ultimate third, I was pissed as fuck at how they handled the combo system. It pretty much cemented characters who could stun/freeze/harpoon/net/spin you, then follow up with a combo, as the best characters in the game. I still remember the stupidity of Kabal fucking up entire rosters of people. Then obviously they went 3D (quick tip, any game based on 2D dodging of fireballs does NOT NEED TO GO 3D), and then finally they shit out a trainwreck called MKvsDC, which you knew would be bad the moment DC refused to allow them to have proper fatalities.
I am also gonna point out that WoW lost over a million subscribers within the last year. That’s gotta count as a sign of doom
Although I 100% agree with you on everything you said here, your post isn’t in topic. As stated before, this isn’t just a simple “jump the shark” thread. Explain the signs.
For me, I have to say The Sopranos.
When Tony got into his coma, I started to realize that this is a show about nothing. They always hype up that something big is going to happen (either during the episode or during the next episode previews), but ultimately, nothing happens at all. Each episode is a whole bunch of talking (mostly the same type of stuff we heard a million times before), maybe some random guy you never seen before getting killed, a few threats, and that’s it. The only notable moments were when the gay guy and the NYC mob boss got killed. Too little for a 2.5 season period.
When the series ended (and don’t get me started on that “fuck you” ending of theirs), and I took a look back, the signs were already there prior to season 5 that the writers never resolve issues and hype up conflict that either fizzle out or never come to pass. The best example was the Russian who got shot in the head and ran off. We all were expecting that he would come back, but it never happened.
I suppose the reason why I didn’t catch this before is that they would have 3-4 notable deaths a season and several non-death moments (like ass whoopins or great speeches), so I remained patient.
But now, as I look back, The Sopranos was (as a whole) a shitty-ass show, another of the many programs where they come up with a great concept that grabs a lot of attention from viewers initially, but dies an pitiful death because the writers are so greedy and incompetent (Heroes, anyone?).
Gundam Wing when I realized that they would never kill any of them at all in the whole show.I was pissed Quattro was supposed to self destruct in sand rock and go out like a non bitch.

I agree with everything you said. MKvDC was the lowest point of the series imo, shit, i completely forgot about it.
And yes, i forgot to mention WoW. I myself quit last month after two years. The game is definitely on the decline, but it’s blizzard’s own fault. The last expansion was balls to the wall awful. They need a price reduction on wow if they want to get new people, or even make the game free (that would never happen though).

I started now, and I doubt I will renew after my time is up. Sure, its fun in a small way, but mainly just seems to be grinding to get 85, then grinding more to get PVP or PVE equipment. Nobody seems to give a shit about doing some time wasting collecting of XXXXXX amount of tokens to give to some chick for mediocre items when you’re still level 60. Who cares, when I can just go to Northrend or whatever and get something better for finishing a simple ass quest. And the game NEEDS something more than just fucking dungeons and raids to occupy your time. They need more mini games, and well designed ones.
You have to be one bored lonely mother fucker to keep playing that game for YEARS.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but pve in that game is boring as fuck. Pvp is where it’s at; it’s like fighting games for fantasy lovers.
Unfortunately, pvp in cata is nothing short of a hot walmart mess, so I no longer have interest in it. Sucks.

When they didn’t kill off Sylar in Heroes and kept trying to make him into all these different character types. I think that was a clear sign that the writers didn’t have a clue.
Flash Forward. Ever since the guy saved his partner from that goofy saw-like death trap, the show started losing momentum. I still wish it was picked up for a second season at least.
As soon as I played Earthworm Jim2. It just did not have the same creative or original spirit of the first game and I won’t even start about the 3d version. Hell, the first game STILL holds up today.
When I heard Treyarch was going to start making Call of Duty games. I don’t know why, but when I saw the trailer for their first game, I just had a bad feeling. I’ve never been hyped by their games as much as Infinity Ward’s. In fact I’m super hyped for the next MW even though it might be a glitched filled hot mess, that will make me rage quit and break multiple controllers, they’ve still got me by the short hairs.
Earthworm Jim 2 is great. The first one is a pretty run-of-the mill sidescroller by comparison, though the visuals are really clever. The second one is when they apply that level of creativity to the level designs as well.
