count me IN

thread deserves a sticky
all the best guys. hope i’ll be able to turn in something too.

Are you in Rook?

Thanks for the sticky.

you can count me in aswell

I am so down to contribute.

well, I’d really like to be in. But given work and my other responsibilities, it’s hard for me to commit with any kind of certainty.

Ah, heck, count me in. I really hope I get the time to put stuff together when the time comes though.

I’m in.

The turnout for this has been really good. Awesome!

hey I have a question…I do not do any sort of coloring at all. I am a penciler / inker. Would (Or could) someone be able to color pieces if the og art is not in color?

So as far as I’m gathering, this will be an open book for games in general maybe? Again, I’ll have to express the thought that it should be limited to fighting games since it’s an SRK artbook.
Here’s some more thoughts-o-mine. The way I’m taking this, those who participate are still paying to get the book, right? I’m guessing that others who want the book will pay as well? Who’s handling the distribution and cost? I’m hoping no ones going to make money on this outside of those who helped make the book.

Oh! What size are we looking at as well? 8.5 x 11 or bigger?

Yeah I’d like to do a pavement art piece if poss or cash in one of my oldies. And have the other side outlining the process.

If people want to limit this to just fighting games, that’s totally cool. I think some would like to do MGS or Resident Evil works, but yeah, if you guys want to limit this to just fighting games, I’m all for it.

As for distribution, we’ll be going through Kablam. We’ll have to determine as a group what type of paper this will be printed on and so forth. I personally recommend full color and glossy.

I can take care of printing and mailing if you guys like. The other alternative would be to buy it via Indyplanet, but I don’t think they allow that because of the nature of the book. Even if they did allow it, the book would probably cost almost $10 if you include their markup and shipping/handling.

That being the case, if we go full color glossy at 24 pages, its around $4.50 per book. So if those who want a copy just send me (or whoever we decide on) $5, that should handle printing and mailing costs.

If the responsibility falls on me, I’ll put each book in plastic with 2 boards on both sides (I have tons of them, so its no big deal), and place them in vanilla envelopes for mailing. That should protect them from any major damage.

There’s Kablam’s website. If you have any other questions/concerns, post them here.

I’d like to sign up, please!

Depends on what we are drawing in the art book, but I’d probably do it as long as it wasn’t like “This is the Ryu only artbook” or something.

It definitely wont be something like that. Right now the general consensus is either an artbook showcasing gaming in general, or an artbook only showcasing fighting game art.

So are you in?

Should set up a poll to vote on the subject matter ie only fighting games vs all games. And if the vote turns out to be only fighting games. Would we include characters from the vs series games ie other Capcom characters like those featured in CvM series and the marvel characters.

Sure what evs. It’ll give me a reason to draw something.

Sounds good. We’ll get to that once sign up ends this week.

It’d be nice to just do games in general. So we could have a huge amount of games to pick from.

You’d have Rocket Knight Adventures on one page, Clayfighter on another, and like Road Rage on the final page or somethign.
