is sentinel really that easy to use?
yes…against weaker characters a simple a,a,a,b, launcer or rocket punch will do a ton of damage
Will chris get eaten alive by sentinel, or is his keepaway enough to survive. I’ll either have repulsor blast or pendulum swing for anti air.
yes, if you only play sentine, in this game it will make you lazy XD
Agreed, a lot of players are already jumping on the Sent bandwagon as we speak.
Cr. has super armor, spammable high low :h: attack, things like that are already enough to convince in the newest of noobs to pick him up.
Heck, I use him as well, his assists are pretty good.
Perhaps on the long run this will change, but expect Evo '11 to have mass production Sentinels featured in a lot of teams.
People are ALWAYS going to jump on the bandwagon of characters that look strong. Sentinel is without question dominating in the footage we have but thats not to say there hasnt been a lot of sloppy playing AND teams without the tools to deal with Sentinel.
So I’m not saying Sent is OP just yet.
Lol anyone check unity recently? I mean, sentinel is in AND he is godlike.
Funny thing is, Dante/Storm/Sent was the team I was going to main. The term “broken” gets thrown around a lot, but these three by themselves look to be extremely GDLK with just the most basic of basic strats and combos. Combine them since they compliment each other so well, and uh…yeah. NeoThrax ftw.
Really fast, mobile rush down will hurt him a lot. Wolive can keep him in block stun almost indefinitely, same with X-23 and Felecia. I imagine a good Phoenix player could do the same. Amaterasu is actually pretty good too. Good mobility and her full screen hyper can on reaction punish a few of his normals and a lot of his super. This is only form my 8 hours or so of play, but every minute of that time was dedicated to finding some tactics against sentinel. Mind you it’s still basic sentinel play that we are testing so I don’t know how well this will hold up in advanced play.
Wolverine seems to be one of the best choices against him. Mainly due to his damage. X-23 doesn’t do bad but has to work harder.
Sentinel might be rushdown prone when he’s on point as your first character, but as your third and with a level 3 X-Factor, I don’t really see “block stun” mattering at all. All it takes is one move with SA to hit before they can land two hits and they are dead.
And just to clarify any “bandwagon jumping”, I played Santhrax in MvC2 and was looking for something relatively similar and had Sentinel on my team well before he was ever revealed. In fact, I honestly hope he has difficulties against many characters, because I’m not using him only because of how strong he is. I’m also looking for a well-rounded team, not one that relies on comeback kings.
I think the real question here is, “Why does Capcom hate the rest of the cast so much?”
Seriously, X-factor Sentinel is just a huge “fuck you” to every single other character out there.
So far, I had thought Capcom was doing a great job with giving each of the characters unique playstyles while keeping everything relatively balanced, but now the game has just turned into Sentinel vs. Sentinel 3: Fate of 2 Sentinels.
Although if I was a Sentinel player I’m sure I would fail to see anything unfair about his inclusion and would be SUPER HYPED TO FLYSTOMP NOOBS IN RANKED.
As far as rushing down sent it is impossible in this game. Any sent worth his salt is going to just xfactor the rush down to command grab. I can kill 2 chars with level one xfactor much less level 2 or three.
Whats your PSN ID? Where do you live? Cause’ I wanna MM people like you who believe that the balance of the ENTIRE game is figured out. Seriously, if you are going to any major that I am registered for, hit me up and I will bring 500$ to MM.
He’s like… he has the easiest and most damaging combos, the highest health, amazing projectiles, godlike assists, and Super Armor on his launcher.
How can he not be on every team? Hopefully there’s a way to deal with him.
LOL word. Need to get in those NYC sessions first.
Sent is strong, I like him.
Although, this may just be me, he can’t take a good rush down.He gets locked down really hard in the corner.
It seems his body really is a problem.
If that’s just me, whats some great non-meter “get off me” moves?
Sometimes i find this a problem too , characters like wolverine, x23, can be annoying so i just advancing gaurd or qcb ultra and i’m back 2 where i wanna be. Usually when my sent is in i’m activatin xfactor and its basically a wrap anyway tho.
That’s fair enough. I have no idea how the balance of the game is going to turn out once everyone gets some time to mess around with it. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if I’m wrong. But seriously, the thought of anything broken enough to make the shit I’ve seen Sent pull with relative ease in the final build look reasonable and tame doesn’t exactly make me feel any better. Even still, it’s pretty hard to argue that a 50% lifebar no-meter air combo that you could theoretically tag in to from an unblockable setup with another character will ever be considered un-noteworthy and obsolete.
At the end of the day…sentinel is a fuckin beast no questions asked. I’m like 100 -13 in ranked right now and i’m not even a good mvc player, sentinel xfactor 3 has saved my ass, sometimes i let ppl beat my just so i can come in and decimate all 3 of their characters in 10 secs lol its mad fun i can feel the rage. That being said…in mvc3 a lot of characters have huge damage combos and the game doesn’t have that feel like mvc3 if ur not pickin cable, magneto, sent, storm you gonna get killed…theres plenty more balance this time around. The top player right now is using haggar, captain america, and wolverine i believe on psn.
I won’t lie, “Sentinel vs Sentinel 3: The fate of 2 Sentinels” had me cracking up.
