Sorry to be a bother, but I still want to know if his Hyper Sentinel Force is any good?

I see players link a Rocket Punch with Plasma Storm, but not HSF and his HSF was his best super in MvC2.

Did it get nerfed?

Damn what a blow up from those flight rules, Seems like the only thing they nerfed about Sentinel was his Fun Factor =(

Sure he’s got these Dumb 100% combos that my Cat could probably execute, but he’s lost all his proactivity due to the flight rules and hit stun scaling. Think of all the cool shit that would have been possible with having the ability to call assists during flight combos.

IMO Hit stun scaling does nothing but restrict creativity, you’re rewarded for doing more basic combos rather than trying to come up with some fancy combo extension. I think the Dizzy out system from mvc2 was much better. I’m not saying that hit stun scaling should be just flat out yanked out, the game would of course have to be rebalanced.

I salty, and I hope I didn’t get too out of line! I’m not trying to say the game won’t be good, I’m still hype, sad about some of the mechanics.

Corner curbstomping + Ammy lockdown assist + don’t get hit or else 75%… I don’t even need a third, can I just pick those two?

so no launch>magic>fly>magic while calling dante assist?

LAME. tenlame. also, no j.LK? that makes me so sad, catching a jumping fool with the foot then turning it into a combo is what made sent so dangerous.

It’s good, but it did get nerf’d in that he doesn’t have as many +frames on hit as he used too. He can’t dash forward E midscreen and get a lifter combo so random rocket punchxxHyper Sentinel Force isn’t as strong. It’s still a plus on block super so it’s easy to DHC sentinel in and you can do some cool things with it like use it Assist~cr. Cxx fly and get in.

Nope, believe me those were the main two things I was looking forward too with sentinel as well. Unless j. LK is some command normal I just haven’t been able to find it’s not in the game. You can however go normal j. A (j.LP) or j.B(MK) and than fly into a combo sometimes calling dante assist. So you can do it but not off lifter.

This character combo is really amazing. Ammy’s assist just rappppes. Lasts probably 3 seconds and when Ammy is on point her straight ice shot and sentinel assist can combo together and have enough time for ammy to run up and combo the opponent into super for nearly 60+% on Captain America from a projectile 3/4ths the screen away. Also Ammy’s j.B instant overheads everyone but pheonix (as far as I’ve tested) and you do that while they are locked down under a sentinel assist you get a delay j.C into a 60% combo off a couple frame overhead.

With the bomb assist or drone assist?

EDIT: And in general what do you think sent’s best assist is?/what matchups would you use which in?

I knew from the outset that Drones would be better than Bombs, but since they don’t combo, is there a tight enough gap to prevent a jump out?

Damn that sucks, I guess it’s Rocket Punch into Plasma Storm from now on.

Not necessarily in the corner you get st. E into air combo. If your too far for Plasma Storm might as well get the dmg and use it into a beam DHC or Assist~st.Cxxfly pressure. Also A Rocket Punch lifts off ground so you can off a normal throw anywhere (or low to ground air throw) you get A RocketPunchxxHSF-> st. C turns 15% into like 40%+

Also plasma storms damage is pretty meh also and you don’t get good positioning afterwards like you do with hyper sentinel force and HSF is safe.

Personally I view that gap as an excuse for someone to press a button. If people press buttons in there it’s sooo easy to bait it and get a hit. Not to mention that’s the best point on block to execute your mixup as you get a command grab, high, low, and frame trap setup for your point character. Also they combo on hit (or at least I remember them comboing might be character specific though as I did most of my tests on bigger characters as that’s who my friends were playing), just on block between the second and third there is a slight gap.

Another Note: Ammy and Pheonix can crouch under cr. C it’s kinda stupid : / Luckily one good hit and they die.

What’s Sentinel’s overhead option? I saw in a list that he’s in the 8-way dash category but with a (sort of) next to him, so iduno what that means.

You can jump C ffor a semi quick overhead, and then go straight to Exchange. If the exchange hits you combo them for boatloads, if not cancel in to fly and mixup/pressure them from there.

Don’t be discourage with Sentinel this guy is top tier from day one.

Launch from c.M is really good and c.M is 3 hits has armor and is a beast of a normal coupled with a good assist and it’s done. You get launch into dj, fly combos, otg, HSF, launch, into another combo.

I like Sentinel as anchor bcs level 3 x-factor just turns him into a beast. Characters with below average health literally die from like 2-3 hits from his BnB. It’s GG’s if your opponent doesn’t have an answer to sent because on top of all of this his chip damage from everything is crazy.

sentinels flight seems to be harder to control this time around. it takes like a split second for him to stop.

but nevertheless, hes still a fuckin monster.

the priority and range on his air normals is still on crack and he still dishes out big ass damage.

definitely top tier if not high tier at worst.

So all in all, MvC3 Sent is still strong but one will need to play him differently than MvC2?

In general don’t play this game like MVC2 it’s a completely different beast altogether. There’s very few things that carry over from MVC2 and it’s just mostly fundamentals then tricks.

Whoa how did he dash like that ? Some sort of really quick wave dash?

Edit: Ya you can see him pressing down during it if you pause the vid just the low frame rate makes it look like he’s nearly teleporting. Hm, didn’t think you would be able to dash into E from midscreen maybe you can with that : O Also tech that he used dante’s assist to hold them in place to take every hit of the air super (they normally fly away before taking all the hits)

normal wavedashing might be faster than just mashing dash, since youre cancelling it?
