I have played a build of this game, and I’m not going to list the characters that I “honestly feel” are better than Sent, because I do not know how he will stack up in this game or how the knew Sent will play. Yes his combos look good, he has a lot of health, and his damage seems good, but to say “the heart of sentinel play is untouched” is pretty foolish, especially for someone who has not played Sent in this game(probably not even any build) and probably not even in mvc2. Well, if you want to, you can go ahead and say who you think Sent is better than based off of official gameplay vids.

yeah, i think one has to play one of these build to get an idea of how this game actually plays. personally, watching choreographed and edited video, streams or even reading second hand impressions (which i thought were understated in some respects) didn’t really prepare me for it. i thought i knew, but i really didn’t know at all.

The loss of refly and universal super armor is what worries me. Also, how AG will affect him in this game. We’ve already seen fast fly combos from other characters so that is nothing new. I like the HSF into plasma storm in the corner though, and Rocket Punch OTG looks tight.

I’m going to use the hell out of him, and I hope he ends up a very strong character too, but it’s WAY too early to say that he’s going to be top tier again and that his changes were minor…

Agreed on it being to early to judge. But the loss of Super Armor and refly don’t really worry me at all. It doesn’t amount to him not being a strong character, just that he won’t be able to play like MvC2 Sent. Sent has always had the tools to be a beast, even when they stripped him of all his normals from COTA to MvC2. I honestly don’t think that’s changed much.

You’ll just have to play him differently. And it should be expected that he won’t be nearly as OP as in past games.

I’m loving the amount of anti-sentinel or anti magneto/storm/sentinel stuff from people who don’t realise its a different game, and even if they do are just following internet complaining trends rather than thinking for themselves.

Easily. Granted that people need to stop bitching, but let’s not get full of ourselves here. The “Big 3” are only that because they were very overpowered. This matters most only to us competitive players. “The fans” be they Marvel fans, Capcom fans, or MvC fans, are a lot more than just competitive MvC2 players. Hell, MvC fans in general are more than just serious MvC2 players.

And to many fans who like characters other than the Big 3, in MvC2 they were just a hindrance. Unless of course, you were referring to Ryu, Chun-li and Wolverine. The Big 3 representatives for Marvel versus fighters.

Especially as the people complaining aren’t people who under any circumstance would have been against storm/sent/magneto played in the way they became known for.

Not necessarily. I’ve faced them played in the style they were known for long before I ever became a tournament player, for example. Had I not become a tournament player, I’d probably be complaining too, because fighting the Big 3 with low tiers is generally not at all fun. I’ve been on both sides of that coin.

To be honest, I am pretty sure that in high level play, this was one of the most underused teams.

It was mostly MSP, RowTron, Matrix, Sathrax, and Scrub.

He still is a huge target thogh. Though this may be fixed via blocking, it deeply worries me.
