shubacca's thread

Yeah. I’m really liking these. You have really good line-quality, and the exaggerations really work.

still waiting for Twelve pics

:coffee:

OMG, the Gief vs Fuerte storyboards are awesome. Seriously good stuff, shubacca.
Also love the one-shot alt version. LOL at Fuerte trying to do a German suplex on Gief and failing.

No actually I’ve never done one! I’m actually trying to get my own out.

Dood! I was thinking the other day of a hyper Fuerte face on a shirt.

Thanks man…Appreciate it.

Sorry mang… I tried to lookin for them but no luck. I really don’t know where I stashed my pencil drawings. Seems like I totally forgot about them when I went all digital.

Hahaha yeah those little poses are fun to doodle. You can get decent story telling in a short while. It’s really addictive.

Thanks for the comments guys. So I started with the Fuerte/Gief sequence and I remember why I wasn’t crazy about animating… I totally forgot everything I learned in school. I’m gonna start over but I thought I’d share what I had with you guys.

And here’s Akuma in Super Saiyan mode. Haven’t drawn him in a while.

Dude… too pro… too damn pro…

I really like the idea behind the Akuma and the attention to detail.

If I may though, I think he looks distorted. His chest looks much too big compared to his hands and feet or vice versa.

You know I’m a fan,

But anyways loving the latest stuff. Really flowy and dynamic! Have your read Goodbye Chunky Rice? reminds me a bit of Craig Thompson’s artwork for some reason.

good stuff man

that looks great! love your style!

Nice animation. Looking forward for the final product!

Akuma/Gouki looks freakin’ fierce! His legs and feet look a bit skinny, though. Love how you did the stomp effect on the ground plus his that devilish expression on his face.

aw! Dude! Why do you have to start over on the animation??? So far so good, right? Just need to clean up a bit. I don’t know much about frames and animation but I’m guessing that there are main drawings and then the inbetween’s that lead from one main drawing to the next. Anyway, it’s awesome to see progress so keep it up dude! Your style is boss.

Hey dude, good stuff.

I like the way you draw when you animate, much cleaner and solid than your illustrations if I may be so bold.
If you’re really serious about animating all that and you have the time, go for it, BUT it’s gonna be a looooooooooot of work if you’re gonna do all that. Hope you don’t have a job. :stuck_out_tongue:

Make sure you’re really happy with the entire sequence and try to get the most out of it. It’s always a shame to go into something like this, then having to give up midway because you lost your motivation/realised it’s too much for one person to handle.

Good luck, looking nice so far.

(Btw, why are you using charts? You got inbetweeners working for ya?)

Thanks for the C&C guys.

Tisane, among many others, mentioned the same thing. I’m in a phase where I’m digging characters with piercing limbs… like 3S chunners. I do however understand why it’s awkward looking, and I’ll dial it down to see if I can find something that works well. Thanks for the crits!

That’s the first time anyone’s complimented my rough drawing. Thanks dood. I’m not working actually and I’m planning on taking on some 3D training. I’m practicing my animation to get ready for it all. Thanks for the advice…def gonna refresh my principles at the least.

As for the charts? I can’t maintain the timing of simultaneous actions well. I just have poor focus and process when I animate…which is pretty much just a sign that I need to practice it more. I’m just very impatient and charts have always helped me stay on point.

Yeah… I mean, I’d love to do a lot of Streetfighter themed animation too, but then I always remember that’ll leave less time for my own projects which I could be developing. It’s sad, but true.

That’s cool. I guess I’m just not used to that myself. I asked around at work and people said that it can indeed help keep track of your spacing. I might have to try it myself, though I’ve changed my work flow about a million times already over the last couple of years.
Good luck on the 3d, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to understand that shit.

that shit is certainly complicated. so much tinkering before you can actually do anything artistic with it but the payoff is big in the end. i still hate messing with it too. good luck with it and please post your 3D stuff on srk, shubacca. it would be real interesting to see your style translated into 3D.

SHU!!! love the animation. cant’ wait to see what the final version would look like! and the akuma is awesome of course.

Tell you the truth, I am terrified… but like you say, I think the payoff is worth it as well.

Yoo EDDD. Thanks man… still workin on the animashun.

A viper !

very nice

Too hot for words, that Viper.

Keep it up, shu!

How adorable she is. I want to be like you. :frowning:
