As far as I know, Emotiongear has been in contact with BAS about the issue’s regarding their payments. US players were all paid, and prizes will be paid out at the tournament this year.

Bronson wasn’t banned, did you not see him onstage? Nor was Buktooth banned from anything. Him getting paid late was miscommunication . I thought everybody was paid, when I contacted Buk close to Evo and heard he hadn’t been paid yet I arranged to bring him the money at the event. If I had known about it sooner I would have tried to get him the money sooner.
As I stated before, Emotiongear is in contact with BAS about that issue, and ST players were refunded at the tournament, I know that cause I handed the refunds out.

Revisiting Texas Showdown 5… Lets see who my sponsors and partners were for that tournament.
- Main sponsor(people who paid for most of the venue and brought most of the equipment) - Major League Gaming.
Although our event went well and without a hitch, unfortunately we know how it ended up when MLG partnered up with Evo. Thus they wanted nothing more to do with fighting games and I had no sponsor and attempted to pay for almost everything in 06, and led me to going with outside sources for last year and this years event.
- Stargate
Regardless of what the current trend is in the US, I still think events should be either on arcade cabinets or setup as close to one as possible. That was of course crippled immensely once Stargate closed its doors. Nobody to blame for that really but the players. It was an arcade that catered to the players, so if that fails, who else is there to blame?
Everybody can say or think whatever they want, if you want to go, then go and have fun. If not, then stay at home and have fun. I don’t care. Bringing up the past tournament you enjoyed is nice to reminisce once in a while, but theres really no need to try and compare. Maybe you should go and support events for the sake of going, when was the last tournament you even went to that wasn’t in Dallas or Evo?
I already plan on doing that.

Yup, been done with them for awhile now, but we want to do a huge test before posting. Unfortunately, this Sat is a big day (we got like four freakin’ Brawl tournaments we gotta go rape at and it’s taking up a lot of our time getting it planned out.) We’ll post the 2v2 rule set on Sun. or Mon.
The players? Sorry no, the players were all there. At least I was, A LOT. I can’t count how many times I turned down pussy to go to SG. Yes it was tired, old pussy that I as already getting bored of, but it was pussy non-the-less.
Blame the closing of SG on the lack of new players. I can’t count the new faces at PZ and that’s the reason those doors stay open. That’s what a business needs. I mean, how long can hardcore players keep a business afloat on their own? Not long, case in point: SG. No ones fault, just people get older, get lives, etc.
Anyways, I’m still up in the air about this tourny. Lack of funds at the moment are a big contributor, but we’ll see. I always go to a Ranma tourny, but last year left a bad taste in my mouth.
We’ll see.

Now before I tell you to gtfo out this thread, let me explain a few things. I take responsibilities for the delays, its simply has to do with how a company documents prize money to overseas locations. If this was a one time deal, I can simply work the system. However this is going to be an annual thing and the chances of foreign participants ending up with prize money is very likely. I have no choice but to make sure that we have every detail taken care of before I get this company or any of my sponsors in trouble. I also have to make it simple for the companies who are sponsoring cash prizes so i dont have delays or problems in the future. Capiche?
