Should the next SF have stun bars?

These two statements seem inherently contradictory to me.

Most of the case against stun bars seems to be either that it adds clutter (either ppl are dumb or have not played third strike), or that it detracts from the mystery. Imo, “mystery” = bad in a competitive game. It’s almost as bad a thing to have as “randomness”.

Pretty much every single argument presented against stun bars could be just as well applied to say the lifebar should be invisible too. Do you really think street fighter would be a better game if you had no visible indicator of your remaining health?

Yes. It’d help players. 3s did it fairly easily, with a small bar below the HP meter. Seriously there’s no reason why there shouldn’t be. Not saying you should patch it to this game, but just slap it on to the next sequel.

It’s called a “Stun” for a reason. If you knew it was coming then you would change up tactics/turtle. The fact that you didn’t and you kept jumping in or falling for some setup means that you should get taken out of the action unexpectedly to finally MAKE you stop and think for a second.

the thing is, because blocking doesnt reset stun count, it can be misleading.

you can think you have recovered stun points but in fact you arent because you blocked a lot after a high stun combo, and currently there is no way to know that with precision.
