i have a plenty of time playing fighting games, and what im refering is not about if you are a newby or not, im refering to the people who doesnt want learn, the “scrubs” that insult you for winning, the people who d/c when their are loosing, im refering to the bad players
Haha, It is a video game.
3d Is fine. Backgrounds can get a little taxing on the eyes. But just choose the training level.
I played Alpha 3, and everything feels the same speed… so I’m not sure what that’s about. Things do seem alot easier, and that’s fine. We wouldn’t want people new to the game to just put it down and stop playing it because of how difficult it is. And just keep in mind, this game was not designed strictly for “proffesionals” and tournament players.

MVC 2 went through all that too and is way more popular. I doubt the arcade board thing was a major factor.QUOTE]
MVC2 had marvel characters lol, look at DC vs MK…its a easy marketting strategy when you got Spidey, hulk and wolverine as you’re poster boys. Arcades overall decline in NA was a huge factor, remember it was during these years that FF7/Zelda/RE/Metal Gear and Tekken where making the rounds…fighters just seemed dated by comparision aside from standout hits like the MK and vs series.
Those people would be doing that regardless so your point is moot.
the problem is that you have to deal with a lot of scrubs before finding a few good matches, thats a problem
The concept of challenging varies from individual to individual though, some games reach a point where they become too frustrating and as a result aren’t even fun. Consequently, players just avoid the game in general.
Capcom didn’t set out to revive the classics; they stated, multiple times, that they were trying to make the game more accessible (Accessibility sells games and Capcom needs their paycheck).
As for there not being any progression … I don’t even know what to say to that. Some people are complaining it’s too different, and some are complaining it’s more of the same.
So deal with it… what the hell do you want to happen?
Don’t you have friends you can play SF4 with? The best matches are offline ones anyway.
Regardless, the ‘I only get matched with scrubs’ phase shouldn’t be a problem. As you rank higher doesn’t the game attempt to pitch you against people of the same skill level?

The point is that the fact that tekken and mk were hits wasn’t just an accident. They’re fun games that you can pick up and play. Same reason why DOA was a hit. Most fighters became too caught up in technical stuff that you couldn’t do that, so an average gamer won’t bother.
Cry more.
You would think that but people have 2000BP because they drop before they lose and don’t lose BP. The game matches you up by BP.
Skill is only measured by points. So there are a lot of scrubs w/ 2000+ points somehow(sagat). Once I fight people w/ 3000+ though, it’s always earned.
I didn’t even think people would bother with irrelevancies like BP. It’s there to help you go up against people of your own skill, if you really want to fight people more skilled the option is there too.
Lol, apparently video games are serious business. Well, I might stick to player matches since there shouldn’t be any incentive to do that.
Capcom is one of those companies that don’t fucking care what the fans may think. They just do with the series as they please.
in all these 20 years I can’t get it into my head why they can’t add new moves to ryu that make him play a little different.
and that goes for all the characters
It’s either they’re “pandering too much to the fans”, or “they don’t listen to the fans”.
Who is right? I have no idea, because both are valid points, but also not entirely true.
It may be true to you that Capcom doesn’t listen to the fans, but another person would say that they listen to the fans too much.
But you know what? It shouldn’t be a big surprise that some people hate SF4. After all, there are people who hate SF3 with a passion. Doesn’t mean they are right nor are they wrong.

Notice the trend though…3D fighters became popular because the industry as a whole at that time was shifting to 3D graphics. It was a revolution of technolgy with the PS1 and N64…gernally speaking 2D fighters where losing flare and becoming a ninche market.
Izzat so? 'Cuz from where I stand, SF4 seems to contradict their claims just a tad.
So, you just regurgitated what Ono said when the game was in development.
How so? It’s selling like crazy and people are playing it. Capcom achieved their goal.
This is because most people see Street Fighter not as a learning experiance, but for what it really is: a stupid, pointless, and really fun video game. They just want to play a little here and there and don’t give 2 shits about the hardcore community or getting better or anything. They bought the game, so who the fuck cares how they want to play it? If they want to be a bad player, so be it.
I mean if people like that are playing fighting games, its a good sign. It means casual gamers are buying it and that means SF4 did EXACTLY what it set out to do. I mean it’s really fucking stupid to hate on a game for achieving it’s goals, even in the short term.
uhh the fans dont want change as demonstrated by the legions of kens online
