I am a Street Fighter 5 newbie. I have a fairly powerful PC with a GTX 1080 video card. I also have a PS 4. I will have a PS4 joystick which seems to be compatible with the dll offered on this board. Should I just go with the PC version? I have it connected to a 24" monitor but I can try connecting it to a 40" 4K TV I own.
PC Version will look nicer
You’ll have to deal with the bad end of the netcode though
PS4 is favored when it comes to connection so PC will get the rollback
Thanks for the responses. I’ll get the PC version for the graphics boost. It is also on a black friday sale at green man gaming for a good price. After practicing for a while, if I find the net code no good, I guess I’ll be forced to try the PS4 version later.
Don’t buy it at all in my opinion.
The harder Street Fighter V tanks in sales, the more companies will think about releasing half-assed shit in the future.
If it’s your absolute dream game though, I’d go with the PC version if I had a powerful PC like you.
Why have worse graphics and even longer loading times, when you just bought a high end pc?
PC version also has lower input lag for offline play. You can disable Vsync in the game config file. Also set the appropriate settings for fixed frame rate. There was a reddit thread about it. It reaches SFIV levels of input lag this way.
With newer Nvidia drivers they added Fastsync. It eliminates tearing even with Vsync off. Though it brakes some FG like Melty Blood and Arcana Heart that run faster if you enable it.
Enjoy, you chose the right platform, especially with that vid card. Once you get into it, you will also enjoy the vast amount of mods that console players will not.
