No, that’s different. Safe spaces are places where discussion is just a circle-jerk, because opposing views make leftists/sjw/feminists feel “threatened” because they have to re-evaluate their stance on their beliefs.
Seeing as how people are already asking for refunds for CEO it’s rightfully justified, this could happen at anytime and anyplace so I feel security is needed at larger events, I mean you have to be careful about who you call salty at these events the slightest thing could trigger them, people don’t take losing well
Hell I’m scared to play casuals against certain people at some events, one guy banged his head against the wall after losing a couple of matches
I respect someone’s decision to withdraw after an event like that, but just not in my personal interest to do. The next shooting could happen absolutely anywhere. It could happen at the bar you go to before you drive to the airport. You just don’t know.
Withdrawing from an event simply because it occurred nearby a crisis won’t actually lessen a chance of something happening to you. You’re just simply removing yourself from the immediate area of an event where the suspect has already killed themselves. The next thing could happen tomorrow near you at somewhere you regularly attend.
I know people that purposely choose to not go to movie theaters or most public places anymore due to recent terror acts in such public places, but that’s just life. Public places = you are at risk. Other than having every public establishment decked with armored security, you go to public establishments at your own risk.
You would have died during Marvel 2. Shit like this happened and everyone still lived.
People like that should just stay the fuck home, seriously. You’re going to an event where the best of the best will be competing. If you can’t handle losing then you’re clearly not cut out for the FGC. Even the best players lose. Mago, Tokido, Justin, Nuki, Haitani, Infiltration, Daigo, etc. have all lost at some point. People win and people lose, god damn. If someone started banging their head against the wall after losing to me I would probably never go back to that event…ever. I don’t like to surround myself with that kind of negativity.
Some shit like that would really be off putting to me.
Forgot to post about, that analogy doesn’t work considering this community and we’re minorities who get followed around the store the whole time: “Can I help you sir? / What are you looking for, BOSS?”
What kind of look will it be - TO THE “ESPORTS”
AS THOSE GUYS GET PUT THRU METAL DETECTORS LIKE THAT BAD HIGH SCHOOL I SAW IN THE BEGINNING OF FAST & FURIOUS TOKYO DRIFT!!
The best place to go after a terrible event is exactly where it happened. You think someone is going to try the same shit again with all those law enforcement officials roaming about? Of course not! Probably the safest place on earth, tbh.
I went to Paris two weeks after the terrorist attacks and that shit was safe as fuck because the military was everywhere! I got croissants @“the epidemic” only dreams of.
Speaking of France, that was one of the most hilarious things about Cannes Winter Clash. There was a constant queue of probably ~500 people outside the venue, all of whom had to get their bags checked, probably “to protect them from TURRURISTZ”. Never mind the fact that a packed queue like that is a perfect target if you want to kill people, but at least then it probably wouldn’t be the direct responsibility of the festival security guys =V
I had to work at the convention center out near Charles de Gaulle when I was in France and the security was for real. Full pat-downs, backpack checks, and metal detector run through in three separate parts.
Yeah, in retrospect they could’ve shot up the line like you’re mentioning but at least at my event there were military personnel on hand to buck shots if some shit went off.
I don’t think so. Bans shouldn’t be banned from places such as majors, or even public places like theaters, concerts, malls, playgrounds, etc. People having fire arms doesn’t mean anything anyway and it doesn’t contribute to the mass shootings we had.
